Ex-referee Graham Barber has spoken out against Arsène Wenger and said that the Arsenal manager has stepped over the line when he accused a linesman of lying in a match report.
Barber said: "Questioning the linesman's integrity is completely wrong and completely out of order.
"It's not the correct thing to say by Arsène Wenger."
Wenger was reacting to a three-match ban imposed by the Football Association on Emmanuel Adebayor, after a linesman in the Carling Cup final accused the Togo striker of attempting to punch Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
Barber added: "It's an emotional game but there's a time and place for those sort of comments.
"There's nothing wrong with a manager having an opinion but the timing of his comments was inappropriate."

The problem is really the football authorities' behaving like a school headmaster treating the managers and clubs like schoolchildren. You may be right but you cannot question them.
Thanks lord for bergie

Barber is a twat. He was the ref that played 7 minutes of extra time to allow leicester to get a 3-3 draw against us yonks ago. It was the match where Bergkamp got 1,2 and third place on the goal of the month contest for his three goals that game. He was determined to keep playing until Leicester got an equaliser. So pardon us Arsenal fans if we don't give a flying fig what he says

Graham Barber was a shit ref as well. Arsene Wenger is quite entitled to say what he wants....he can prove it after all. Besides last time I heard it was a free country.

Here we go again. Englishmen of every kind is condemning Wenger that his statement is unecceptable. However, the same statement by an English manager like Warnock appear to be ok
Has anyone seen the glee on the faces of our MOTD presenters and pundits in response to Arsenal's woes? Schadenfreude or what?
