Youngster Johan Djourou has declared himself pleased with how he has done for Arsenal this season.
The 20-year-old has been called upon 29 times by manager Arsène Wenger this season and is pleased with the experience he has gained when called upon.
"I've definitely played more games than I expected this season," Djourou told Arsenal.com. "When you're a young player you're expecting to be more on the bench and going through a learning process. But this season the boss [Wenger] has shown he has confidence in me, which is great for young players.
"It's been an amazing season to be playing at a level you don't expect to play at so much when you're so young."
The Swiss centre-back has found starting oppurtunities harder in recent weeks following the return of William Gallas, but is happy to wait for his chance again.
"I'm always ready to play but maybe at the moment the situation is harder because William and others are back.
"I think it's all part of the learning process. I'm still young and I can learn a lot from those players and it's good to watch them play. Of course when you're young you want to play every game but I think I have to wait my turn. I've got time to come."
Djourou does admit, however, that Arsenal must pick up their form from now until the end of the season if they hope to play in the Champions League next season.
"I think we have to get ourselves going again and catch the points to be safe for the Champions League next year," he admitted. "The atmosphere in the dressing room is very good. All the players know what we have to do. We must try to get the team togetherness again and try to do as well as we did last year. We're not pointing fingers. We're all together in this."
