Arsène Wenger was happy with the performance of his team yesterday and said that the performance was spot-on from his players.
After four matches without a win, the Frenchman finally saw his team notch up a 2-1 win against bogey side Bolton.
Wenger said: "I'm happy with the performance of the team and I'm happy with the mental strength we've shown because we were one-nil down with a set piece and we've come back to win.
"We should have won more comfortably, of course.
"Overall the performance was spot on, we didn't panic when we were one-nil down and kept going.
"I think we played well. We really deserved to win this game."
The win takes Arsenal 5 points clear of Bolton, who are also aiming to finish in the final Champions League spot.
There is still some way to go in the season yet, and the fourth Champions League spot is not guaranteed for the Arsenal, but Wenger admits that it was a big step forward for the team.
Wenger said: "Not completely [sealed] but it's a big step.
"With a game in hand, of course we want to focus now on our next game. To lose the game today would have put us in a bad situation."
