David Dein is reportedly preparing to sell his shares to Stan Kroenke, taking the American closer to the 30% mark required for a hostile takeover.
Press reports are coming in that Dein travelled to America this week, but it is unclear as to whether it was for holiday purposes or to meet with Kroenke.
It is thought that Dein is hoping to ally with Kroenke in order to be implanted as managing director of the North London club.
Dein was sacked by the Arsenal board after a high-powered emergency meeting.
Chairman Peter Hill-Wood will also be making a statement to the club's supporters this weekend in the club's programme for the Arsenal v Fulham match.

Do you realise Dein's wife is American, they have family over there, and that he holidays there a few times every year?
I'd find it stranger if he WASN'T visiting the states!
