Freddie Ljungberg has reiterated his desire to stay with Arsenal and is determined to guide the Gunners challenge for trophies next season.
Ljungberg struggled to secure a regular first team place last year after being plagued with numerous injuries and there were talks about him leaving the North London club with interests coming from Spain and Italy at the end of the season.
With manager Arsène Wenger in doubt over his long term future with the club, Ljungberg has the option to leave as well.
However, the Swede international says his relationship with Wenger is as strong as ever and he remains confident that the young Gunners can challenge for trophies in the coming season.
"This will be my 10th season with Arsenal and I cannot wait to start the season with them," Ljungberg said.
"I am very much looking forward to the opening game against Fulham. It is great to start the season with a London derby."
