Arsène Wenger is delighted over Francesc Fabregas' decision to stay and has insisted that he was confident that the young Spaniard will stay on despite the mounting speculation surrounding the 20-year-old.
"There was never any question in my mind [of Fabregas leaving]," he told Sky Sports News.
"I think he has six or seven years left on his contract and I think he has shown many times he is committed to the club."
Kolo Touré is also happy that Fabregas is staying, and warned Arsenal's Premier League rivals that he expects Fabregas to be much stronger this season.
"It is going to be really important for Arsenal because he is one of our best players," said Touré.
"Cesc is improving and I think this season he is going to be much better."
Touré also backed Arsenal will be fine with the young strikers who may fill the void left by Thierry Henry.
"It is true that we have lost Titi but we have some good strikers in Emmanuel Adebayor, (Robin) van Persie and Eduardo da Silva," he explained.
"We all have to work together and do something for the club."
