With Arsenal facing an injury crisis only weeks into the new season, fans would be forgiven for thinking that Arsène Wenger has plans to sign a new player to boost his depleted ranks.
However, he put that thought to rest by stating on Arsenal.com that he is 'nowhere' near any new signing.
With William Gallas, Emmanuel Adebayor, Abou Diaby amongst those injured; and Johan Djourou leaving on loan, Arsenal are looking short on squad depth.
"I have not found anybody," Wenger said. "Either they do not exist, or if you go into the market and want to buy someone tomorrow, it will be at a very high price."
"I still feel I will do something if it comes up. But at the moment, frankly, I am nowhere."
Arsenal have until the end of the month to sign any further players before the transfer window closes.
