Manager Arsène Wenger has said that the referee in charge of the West Ham v Arsenal match was not to blame for failing to take more serious action against Mark Noble for his challenge on Alexander Hleb.
Hleb faces a late fitness test today ahead of Arsenal's Champions League game against Steaua Bucharest.
Wenger said: "I have seen it again and it was a straight red for Noble, without a doubt.
"I can understand the referee could not see it, because you could only see it well from one angle on television. That angle is really bad.
"I do not blame the referee because he could not see what happened. He saw it was a foul but he certainly did not notice how bad the foul was at the time.
"There is a case to charge some players after that because sometimes the referee cannot see.
"Only if the referee says he did not see how bad it was.
"The rule would be made not to diminish the power and the authority of the referee - but with the referee's help you could do it."

Wenger's spot on. I can tell you as a very experienced referee that it's all about angles. You work the whole game to get the right look at play, but player movement is of course so dynamic that you can't always be where you would like to be. Every match there is some incident that I am not sure I got quite right because I didn't have the proper angle. That's where ARs are so important-- but they can be either too distant or focused on the offside call. For disciplinary purposes I like the idea of a second look later.
However I must say I have looked at Noble's tackle. It is very sloppy but imho not malicious, no studs up, so yellow card a good decision.

I see the hypocrit is at it again !!! Let's see who plays again first Hleb (or whatever the foreigner's name is or Scott Parker !!!) Mt Wenger alsways seems to miss the dirty things that Arsenal do (Flamini not once, not twice but 3 times at least !!!

Would he also agree to do a retrospective review on Ljungberg goal and the Flamini challenge on Parker !!
