It's rare, but sometimes an international break can come at the right time, and now is that time for Arsenal.
Normally it's annoying, especially for Arsène Wenger, because international breaks come in and distract his players from his fine-tuned playing style. They also disrupt the momentum a team may be starting to find, but judging from yesterday's performance against Sunderland, a break might be what the team need.
After flying out of the traps, scoring what should have been three early goals, Arsenal lost a 2-0 lead at home after taking their foot off the gas. At 2-2, they passed an important test and scored a brilliant third to take the three points, but it shouldn't have been so difficult.
The break comes timely now, because it will distract the players from how well they've been playing, and they will be starting again when they play Bolton on the 20th. They then have another good warmup game at home to Slavia Prague five days before the big game at Anfield.
It's an interesting time for Arsenal. Everyone's been quite surprised by their brilliant start, but October and November will probably tell us more about where the season is going to go. I think they can 4 or maybe even 6 points from the games against Liverpool and Man Utd.
Who will score the goals? Arsenal's top scorers are Fabregas and van Persie with seven each, with Adebayor just behind with six, so the main midfield man has been contributing and both strikers are scoring.
But they're not scoring at the same time. In the last month, Adebayor scored six in games against Portsmouth, Spurs and Derby, and van Persie scored five in games against Sevilla, West Ham, Steaua Bucharest and Sunderland. It seems at the moment that when one is on form, the other is slightly off form. It's not yet clear if this is a problem, or just as well. Eduardo will surely have something to say at some point as well.
I don't know what's going to happen. It's exciting, more exciting than it has been for quite a while, so that's progress at least.

That is right. but i think the best thing for any team is to have players who can fill the void in case there is a problem to a star player. Its a blessing that we have Adebayor and van persie.

Does anyone really expect Liverpool to mount a serious Challenge. They are a tournament team, not a Championship Side. Its back to the Good old days, and it seems that the Football Gods have finally restored some Parody. Every Year the same pretenders trying to Challenge, but its a 2 Horse Race!! Depends on how well we come out of the January period when we lose all our African players.
Saturdays game against Sunderland was over before it started, these are the tricky ones we were either Losing or Drawing last year. So i feel we have found other ways to win, there is still no real Plan B but they are determined to WIN Every Game, and Fight for every ball and that is what is there Plan B.

I think the international break will afford the arsenal youngsters (or is that young stars?) the chance to apply their skills to different challenges unattached to arsenal's campaign. So that they don't get carried away with their blistering premiership form. It'll improve their focus on the season rather than distracting them.

Arsenal are playing the best football at the moment. Lets hope they will continue with the same pace. The biggest challenge will be againest liverpool and manchester. Good luck the young gunners.

I am puzzled that many people are puzzled that Arsenal is doing so well.even one of Liverpool's franchise owners predicted that Arsenal would be title contenders this season even if he did not explicitly say so. in any event, i did predict that Arsenal needed to be without the absentee(for 2 seasons) talisman Henry to be unshackled.

It's NOT selfish Flo. We are the Arsenal! That is priority. Anyways so long as they keep playing well for club, their country ratings are more than certain to be high.

You are spot on Brother , a break is what we need to rethink about things. Just hope AW does not change the entire formation

i'm sure after the break everyone one of them will score at the same time, that's the only way to frustrate the big teams and make them look ordinary

I understand where ur coming from, but i dont think the internationals are going to be of much help to the players individually. Most of them are going into the decisive stages of their euro qualifiers and there is quite a bit of pressure on them to produce. It might sound selfish but i hope most of our players who got called up don't make the first team for their countries. Let them just get some rest huh? Then lets get back and teach Bolton, Liverpool and ManU a lesson or two about the way football should be played!! Gooners rock!

Chunderland are getting to much credit for pulling 2 goals back the way people are going on you would think that they won the game. I can see the playerhaters crawling from under there rocks already.

Couldn't agree more - I was thinking that yesterday. We looked tired and complacent so now is probably a good time for a break for once. International breaks are normally irritating but I think this one may have come at just the right time.
