Lehmann told to back down

Lehmann told to back down

By Jonathan Chong on Friday, October 26, 2007

Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been told to back down over his comments about manager Arsène Wenger, and his threat to go public with spat with the Arsenal manager.

German legend Franz Beckenbauer has said that Lehmann would be engaging himself in a battle he could not possibly win, and that Wenger was a fair coach.

Beckenbauer said: "Lehmann must not make the mistake and start a confrontation with Wenger because he will not win it.

"Wenger is a fair coach who does not immediately take out a player when he has a bad day.

"Lehmann needs to be patient until he gets his chance, but he will get it.

"Lehmann will be playing for a different club by winter because Wenger will not accept the criticism."

Lehman should be man enough to fight for his place rather than blabbing aroung. if you're that good enough prove it to Wenger and surely you'll get in the sticks. But for now Almunia is man...

I love Jens! I love his passion for the game! His latest antics -- I don't love so much. Wenger seems like a nice guy and a fair coach but even I think maybe my dear Jens has gone a little too far this time. I hope that Jens and Wenger can work through this and Jens will once again be #1 GK for Arsenal

Franz said it all Lehmann is Arsenal no.1 keeper, but he should not engage in any confrontation with the best football Manager in the world. Tell Lehmann to watch his comments.

Lehman is a madman let's all face it - Wenger is a man of sound judgement although I cannot see why he does not buy a good centre half to help out Toure who is excellnet the weakness in the Arsenal squad is a goal keeper and a second centre half to go alongside Toure - with John Terry and Czech Arsenal could win everything lterally

I will like to ay that Lehmann has being a shadow of himself since the begining of these season. He should stop making noice and try to improve in his form.

Mr wenger was patient with lehmann even after making school boy errors, this season and last one too.to me jens should be grateful wearing the arsenal shirt again.he should have been sold in the summer.disrespecting Mr WENGER is not the solution of his errors.he should rot in the reserve.shame on you LEHMANN.
LIFE LONG FAN.

wenger level of tolerance of players bad days is legendry.he has the record of backing his players on bad days,so lehman criticism is off track and mischivious with bad intention to break the existing team spirit.
