Wenger looks at the positives

Manager Arsène Wenger was looking at the positives after seeing his Arsenal side succumb to their first league defeat of the season.

A lacklustre Arsenal performance saw them suffer a 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Wenger said: "We can't complain, we weren't sharp after four away games.

"I know the gap is only one point now but we would have taken the position we are in at the start of the season.

"Boro were clearly sharper than us after a difficult period of games, which seem to have taken their toll.

"We have a few injuries at the moment, but it is easy to blame the players who are not here and I believe in the players who played today.

"This season will be a big, big fight for the title. United have had nine home games and seven away, while we've played eight each so I'm happy we're top of the league."

I totally agree with Wenger on this one. Boro were totally committed from the inception of the match. I think that the thought of going on another 'UNBEATEN RUN' was gradually beginning to get into the head of the players, thus putting them under unnecessary pressure. The players would be more focused and determined to win the league now that the idea of going UNBEATEN has been blown away thanks to Boro.

I agree with my coach and i believe that he will do something fast before and I hope the players that has injuries will return back soon. Pls he should buy more midfielders and one striker. I have gooners and we are going to carry the title.

against borough, that is not arsenal.. they just defending, clear the ball and play stupid long ball... a good arsenal early in the season will control posession, play lot of short pass and control the game... i don't think play long ball is a good idea for arsenal.. we are not united.. and 1 more thing, don,t ever use that stupid diarra again... gilberto also looks awful... they don,t control the midfield.. adebator also, as stupid as ever...
