Wenger hails fighting spirit

Manager Arsène Wenger hailed his team's fighting spirit after they battled Chelsea to earn a 1-0 win, which should have been more.

Wenger said: "The spirit in the side is absolutely amazing.

"Not everyone was at their best because some of them had just come back from injury, but we were able to dominate the fight.

"I believe that is where we have improved the most.

"We have shown great character to not be dominated in the fight.

"That is not the case normally.

"The first half was a bit locked but Gallas's goal changed the game. Chelsea threw everything forward and we had chances on the counter-attack."
