Wenger on why he rested Arsenal duo

By Jonathan Chong on Saturday, December 29, 2007

Manager Arsène Wenger explained his decision to rest striker Emmanuel Adebayor and midfielder Tomas Rosicky during the 4-1 win away at Everton.

The Gunners were 1-0 down at half time but battled back to take all three points back to North London.

Wenger said: "It was a slight gamble because they are two important players.

"They gave a lot at Portsmouth on Boxing Day and needed a breather.

"We were too nervous and they didn't play enough.

"Everton made a battle of it and won most of the duels."

Only one word describes Eduardo's finishes:CLASSY
after such an indifferent start to life in the premiership,i am sure defenders that saw how he made light work of the Tofees defence would have a rethink now and realize there is a new assassin in the Gunner's Camp. Name:EDUARDO DA SILVA !

One of your best tactical moves so far. Eduardo makes goalscoring soooooooooooo SWEET. Put in two without a fuss and much noise. Was on the way to the third! He's a great finisher (if he's made one).
