Wenger: Adebayor cannot be compared to Ronaldo

Manager Arsène Wenger has said that striker Emmanuel Adebayor cannot be compared with winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both players are vying for the Golden Boot, and have been firing their respective teams to the top of the Premiership table respectively.

Wenger said: "I have a lot of respect for Ronaldo. But I am happy with the players I have.

"Ronaldo and Adebayor are different players. Adebayor is a real centre-forward. He has great stamina, is very strong and loves to play.

"For him to finish top scorer in the league is not important. It is important that the team wins.

"That's why I have asked him to focus more on his team performance.

"Overall there is a great understanding in the team. That makes everyone feel comfortable and where you see the best of the players."

Ronaldo can do everything, come assisting, scoring etc. He can be in wing, mid and front but Ade is solely in front waiting to be fed..So christiano is still TOP.

Couldn't agree more about the team aspect...Adebayor's set up for Eduardo's superlative goal v City was a case in point

ronaldo is not in the same league as adebayor. he does his fancy stepovers that no one takes any notice of anymore. he never beats a player, he only runs across field. he takes all free kicks and penalties and for him to call himself a winger is a lie. he spends more time in the box than any striker in the premiership.
i watched him against spurs in the cup and he never got a kick for 70 mins. his head had dropped and he was swapping wings. then he gets his penalty and pinched another when spurs were attacking at the death. he gets a lot of his goals when other teams are chasing the game at the death.
no. i wouldn't swop him for ade.

I think what wenger said is absoutly true, as they both are very good players , but cannot be compared.

Wenger is only saying so because he knows that Adebayor is unlikely to beat Cristiano Ronaldo to the Golden Boots......

NEVER! Ade should never be compared to Ronaldo! Ade is a team player while Ronaldo is selfish.Man U drew with Spurs coz CR7 was not performing.Ade lifted Arsenal both directly and indirectly by scoring and assisting. So we have the better player in Adebayor.
