Bendtner happy to bide his time

Striker Nicklas Bendtner says that he is more than happy to bide his time at the Emirates, as he was once again chosen to warm the bench.

But Bendtner is showing remarkable patience and maturity, prefering to flourish at Arsenal rather than seek a move elsewhere to a smaller club.

The Dane said: "I want to help the team any way I can. If the boss wants me to do it that way then I will do it as a sub.

"Obviously, every player wants to be in the starting XI and I am no different.

"But that's not to be at the moment so I'll just carry on doing my job and helping the team in any way that I can."

Bendtner also scored a crucial goal to earn Arsenal a point against Aston Villa, and he believes that he can form a formidable partnership with first-choice striker Emmanuel Adebayot.

"Every time I have come on, we play all right together.

"Defenders have more problems because suddenly defenders have two big, strong guys to deal with up front.

"It seems always that I can change things when I come on so it's good - but whether I play with Ade, or whoever plays up front, we all do what we do and give our best for the team."

You might have scored important goal, but you are too casual upfront. You're fortunate to be playing for Arsenal.
