Hleb: Lehmann has changed

Hleb: Lehmann has changed

Winger Alexander Hleb has revealed that goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has changed after he was dropped as Arsenal's number one goalkeeper.

The Belarus international said that whilst Lehmann still has time for a private chat with his team mates, his on-pitch personality leaves much to be desired, and is starting to alienate the German number one.

Lehmann was dropped as a string of high-profile errors made manager Arsène Wenger lose confidence in him, and up-stepped Manuel Almunia.

Hleb said: "At first, when Jens was not picked, he was very angry. He did not speak any more. He has a good heart - as long as we speak about private things.

"But when he stands on the training ground he becomes a different person. The way he acts there sometimes needs getting used to.

"I don't think it was part of a big plan from Wenger. Jens had a few problems, that's why Almunia got his chance. Almunia is very popular."

i don't know if anyone actually heard this interview on tvonline, but i really think it's a fake or some kind of wind up. i've never heard a player talk like this about someone else at arsenal. i may be wrong

Unfortunately we have a problem with goalkeepers, even though Almunia has done too badly I dont feel he is world class quality . We need a stronger goalkeeper if we are to be a dominant force in the world
