The Champions league influences the league to a large degree and it is usually negative. Arsenal and Liverpool have gone close or won in years when they are not doing so well in the league.
It seems the big fight on two fronts can be too much for any team without a large squad unless one is lucky enough to be suffering very few injuries like Manchester United in the year they won.
I am particularly annoyed by having Premiership opposition. Having to play Liverpool three times in one week taints the games in both the Champions League and the league.
It will take a lot for one of those teams to beat the other three times in a week. The psychology of the games become completely different and being country rivals adds another unwanted dimension.
The quarter finals will depend on a lot of things:
Will Arsenal be in or out of the title race by the time they play Liverpool?
Will Liverpool still be fighting for 4th place or would a draw or loss in the league be ok for them?
Can Flamini, Sagna and Clichy cover 10km per game 3 times a week?
What will be the score in the first match?
We cannot answer these questions now. We have to wait and see. The first game will be very very important.
Middlesbrough next. Right now, that's most important so the players have to keep their minds on that.

I just don't have anything to say these days. I've just been letting everything happen without me recently. It's not important. I feel like a bunch of nothing, but that's how it is. I've basically been doing nothing worth mentioning. My life's been generally dull recently.

Yeah! It's a worrysome but what inevitable is that we made the same truimph in our way to paris two years back, while we were struggling in the domestic competition.Believe the inconsistency we are currently observing on our team in the EPL has nothing to do with CL.Why are we so fastly forget the way we devastated the pools in three consecutive games last year? will that happpen this year too? WHY NOT???Any way the future is brighter 4 gooners this year.So please you all Ethiopian gooners too think that way.

just seems to be a bit of bias not only with the refs but with the media against us.think the team have proved themselves more than any other has had to this season, and some of the draws have been incredibly tough.the fact we are where we are is a testimony to our strengh of mind and style of game.liverpool will be the ones who regret drawing us.this is not good for them.

There is no need for three wins - 2-0 1-0 whatever will be enough. The Chelsea and Utd games are another aspect - we can beat both with proper European referee unbiased towards the non-English debate on any single day. But, since the Brum game - refs play their bigger part. I am sure they will against Chelsea and even more against Utd. Face it guys, Arsenal will not be allowed to become a champion with only one English player - this will mean even further deterioration of the domestic market in terms of transfer fees. It is business after all. Sad but true...

First off Arsenal are a professional team with professional players so playing Liverpool at any time and any day won't matter. They will be gunning for the win. Try the reverse, does Liverpool contain the mental and physical stamina to outmatch Arsenal 3 times in a week? And concerning three of our most consistent and essential players thats a good question. However Liverpool could also be stretched with three of their own elite. Gerrard, Macherano, Alonso, can they cover three 10km games a week chasing the shadow of the ball? Okay but its Gerrard you say, yes he is great he is made of iron but he's not invincible. And as for the last question, once again, what does it matter? Each and every game they play against each other will be a battle, no one is looking for the easy way out nor can they afford to. We must simply stick behind our boys and support them with every kick of the ball.

Will we be in or out of the race, coarse we'll still be in the race! Even if we lost the next 2 (and that won't happen) we wouldn't be out of it would we? Wenger made his priorities clear by pissing around in the other 2 cups now he must prove all that resting players in those competitions was worth the sacrifice by going all out for the Prem + CL double hammer and tong. We don't want to see players rested now, we want the best team available on the day regardless of how many players are injured. Admittedly I am starting to lose faith in the League, coz i think Arsenal draw too often. When United have a bad day they tend to lose but bounce back with several wins so that the defeat is history, whereas we can let a bad result get to us and take too long to recover from it with several mediocre results on the trot. If Arsenal are to take the title, it is put up or shut up time right now. I wish out of form players would not keep getting picked like Gilberto and Eboue who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo at the moment. And finally, 3 wins aren't necessary against Liverpool. I'm sure we would all be delighted with 0-0, 1-0, and 1-1 which is only one win but still gets us 3 points in the league and a semi final place in the Champions League.
