Lampard praise for Fabregas

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has praised his counterpart Francesc Fabregas ahead of today's clash with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Beating Arsenal could see the Blues leapfrog the Gunners into second place, but Lampard feels that Fabregas is already the total footballer.

Lampard said: "Cesc is an amazing player - he has pure ability.

"Cesc is such a good footballer for his years you forget how young he is. He seems to have been around for such a long time.

"He is the modern-day total footballer. He can do everything and is playing very well at the moment."

Fabregas himself is looking forward to facing Lampard, who he feels is a good benchmark to see how far he has progressed this season.

Fabregas said: "I look forward to playing against Frank because he is always a big test for me as a midfielder and he's an amazing player."

I agree with Da Boss. We need a world class striker. Yesterday was the perfect example of why we need one. Our strikers disappeared while Drogba bides his time and destroys us with 2 goals late in the game. Wenger, WAKE UP and buy a proven striker. As I have said for weeks BYE BYE EPL title . . .

We've gotta stop praising the players and think about the team.if Cesc is playing well and the team is not benefiting then i really don't think anyone deserves praise of any sort. Ade has been really wasteful recently n it has cost us a lot i suggest we get a top class strikers to bring more competition upfront and offload the vunurable ones like RvP and Rosicky. Had they been fully fit in 4 or 5 matches b4 this Chelsea game. Man U wouldn't be ahead of us with 6 points. We've got to use the 70 mill jux becos we need competition to build a strong force domestically and in Europe. Sorry Mr Wenger but this is how far the kids can get you. OUT!!

can not believe he is only 20 years young.. i agree with Nikhil on the idea that fabregas has to inspire the team, they play at a whole new level when he is able to do so.. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!

Arsenal should not give away a penalty because if they do it is sure a goal. Lampard is one of the best penalty takers in the world and has never missed one. He has been scoring daily against teams and he once scored 4 goals in a single match. If Fabregas scores then Hleb, Walcott, Flamini, Adebayor and every other youngster get inspired to give their best shot. If we bring our whole attack then we can destroy their defence and score. It is easier said than done. Chelsea's main strength lie in their attack and midfield. Drogba is an amazing finisher of the ball and Joe Cole is capable of passing anywhere and is Chelsea's best midfielder. If Malouda plays then we should be careful of his crosses because it is very dangerous. Good Luck Arsenal.
