Adebayor feels better after rest

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor says that he feels better after the break given to him by manager Arsène Wenger.

The Togolese international was not in the starting line-up for the match against Bolton Wanderers, where the Gunners had gone 2-0 down at half time and were playing with only 10 men.

Before the match, manager Arsène Wenger had said that he felt the striker was a bit "jaded" and deserved a rest.

Adebayor had scored only once in eight matches after going on a goalscoring blitz for most of the season.

He said: "I really needed that, because I had played all of the games during the season, even in the Carling Cup sometimes.

"At the end of the day, I was tired and the boss is there to do that [rest me].

"You can see now that I am a little bit fresher than before. Now physically I am very good.

"It is not that I put pressure on myself, but I have had to do the job alone because Robin van Persie got injured and then we lost Eduardo as well.

"Whenever the boss has asked me to do it, I have to do it. After all, I am here to play football, as much as I can.

"For me the most important thing is to keep on going, but as a human being if you need a break you have to take it.

"I may have not been scoring, but I am making a lot of positive things for my team-mates. This is the most important thing.

"For me, it is not just about scoring, if you make something for someone else, that is just like a goal.

"I will just keep on going.

"If I get a chance, I will try to put it in. If I do not get a chance, then I will just work hard for my team-mates."

Ade certainly needed some rest.it is a pity that AW wil never being any proven striker in the summer. We the supporters waste time recommending names for possible summer signing. The Prof is as much concerned about the club's success on the field as he is wit the financial
balance sheet. It is always his style.I only hope this summer we try and being in 6 quality average cost players. We lost a 5 point lead due to fatigue and a lean bench. I suggest AW take a look at Odewinge. He could prove to be the perfect replacement for Pierres.: .

Leroy, please be fair. Where would arsenal be without Adebayor this season? I suspect there is something sinister behind all this ade bashing!
