New keeper coming in / Fabianski to be given starts

Reports this morning are indicating that manager Arsène Wenger is looking for an experienced goalkeeper that is available on a free transfer.

This new goalkeeper will be the third-choice goalkeeper after Spaniard Manuel Almunia and Polish Lukasz Fabianski.

German number one Jens Lehmann looks set to exit the club.

There are also reports that Fabianski will be given rare starts in the remaining games of the campaign, and can only mean that Lehmann has possibly played his last game for the club.

About time, wish Lehmann had gone earlier in the year.

I think that we do need a new keeper and one with experience wold be very valuable to the young players and the club, though it would be good to see someone like Gomes come in because i think Arsenal need someone of that calibre in goal.I do like Almunia, but i think someone like Gomes would be a good keeper for us. Fabianski does look as though he will be some keeper one day, hopefully for the gunners.

Almunia is miserable and should not start for a club like Arsenal. Spend some money and get a player that considered half of the team.

It will be very nice if the manager can sign a new expierience goal keeper because in our next campaign will need to have a good keeper incase if our first choice sustain an injury we will not sufer for goal keeper.and we still need to strengthen our attach and our defence.and again i will lure the manager to sign olympic lyon starman hatem benarfa and newcastle united defender stephen taylor.

I'm not sure of the point of signing another 'keeper, It must mean Jens is not prepared to keep the bench warm any longer. It's a shame because Jens has been a great keeper for the club, and to be honest i don't think Almunia has had an outstanding season by any means. I can't remember any amazing games/saves in particular.

Oh well, thanks for everything Jens, and good luck with your new club.

Who would be so dump to sit on the bench behind that clown Almunia and a 23-year old? I wish Wenger would buy a class goalkeeper and make Almunia no 2 again. He's not good enough for us.

And playing Fabianski in all the remaining games ahead of Lehmann looks a bit disrespectful to me. We can still finish second so keep Lehmann in goal as he is clearly doing better than Almunia.
