Ancelotti confirms Flamini interest / Wenger urging to stay

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he is interested in signing Arsenal's Mathieu Flamini.

The Frenchman has so far been reluctant to sign a new contract on offer from Arsenal, and is now being courted by Juventus and Milan.

Ancelotti said: "He is an excellent player. When he played against us, he showed great dynamism and ability. Someone like him would be of use to any side.

"And, seeing as he will be out of contract, that would be an excellent signing for us."

Manager Arsène Wenger has urged Flamini to settle his future by the end of the month, saying that there are more important things in life than money.

Wenger said: "There is something in this team which is stronger than a few bucks here and there.

"What is really important is that this team says 'lets go to the end of our potential together and not walk out for any simpler reason' - and that is where I expect them to show strength, and care what they can achieve together.

"We are not any more in a period where you get £100 more at another club and it decides your life.

"Flamini can earn more somewhere else that is for sure because it would be a free transfer - but how much is he ready to sacrifice to stay here?"

My friend keep quiet... arsenal is the 4th richest club in the world still small clubs in other places pay there players better than arsenal... Flamini deserve collecting even 70,000 pounds a week... hill-wood and others should stop being greedy... and pay him the 55,000 he is demanding, remember he is the highest utility player in premiership, not even ronaldo

Why don't you people get it? it's not only money. Arsenal will never win the CL. Arsenal have not a great chance of winning the EPL in the next few season (as Man U and Chelsea are far superior). Arsenal have not a bright future. he wants success and you people cannot blame him for that.

Mr. Nikhil, kindly keep your words to yourself. Flamini is an excellent player, has saved arsenal on more than 1 occasion. He is not a traitor. His contract expires and its his free will to go wherever he wants to. I want him to stay at Arsenal. You cannot compare Ronaldo extending his contract at MU to Flamini's. Ronaldo is probably getting paid 5 times more than Flamini. Its human, we tend to go wherever there is money...and i would not blame him for leaving Arsenal, if he does....although, i certainly hope he doesnt.

Let him go, I don't think he is important to us but it doesn't mean that he's unreplaceable

Flamini is a big traitor. All he cares about is money and he wants to go to another club. What a bullshit player and after playing him this season in the starting line-up he wants to leave. Cristiano's contract has been extended to 2011 but now he is planning to extend it even more. Such are the players who care about the club they play for. Flamini is a disgrace for Arsenal.

if he wants more money, with the amount of money he already earns, than to play for the arsenal, then stuff him!
