Wenger: I expect Hleb to stay

Manager Arsène Wenger has said that he fully expects winger Alexander Hleb to stay on at the club, despite constant speculation linking him with a move away from the North London club.

The Belarus international is rumoured to be considering of buying himself out of his contract under the Webster clause.

Wenger rebuffed the rumours, saying: "As concerns as to Hleb, I expect him to stay.

"As for Flamini, he has left, but we have players that can replace him and they've shown that again today.

"When you get up in the morning and get a newspaper you think there's nobody at the club anymore, don't worry.

"We've had unlucky happenings with injuries and we're suffering as well because we are very ambitious. It should make them stronger for next season."

it will be a disaster and a big shame to mr wenger if he can not keep his best.i don't see sir alex releasing ronaldo or benitez releasing torres,he should change his policy of keeping babies in the team, the results so far are not fair to him.

An analysis of the season shows when Arsenal were top of the league with both Ade and Fab scoring 90% of our goals, Hleb was on the RM. He did not go to the by-line but cut inside which provided that threatening trio [Ade, Fab and Hleb] attacking the opponents box. When Rosicky was injured and Hleb was moved to LM, ADE'S and Fab's goals dried up and although the football was great we lacked goals. Results don't lie and statistics will prove me right as the number of times [40] that I have seen them on TV this season this stuck out like a very sore thumb. LET US HAVE THIS THREE WAY PARTNERSHIP NEXT SEASON AND LET AW GET SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAY LM.

even if he wants to leave, i don't think that would have any impact on our performance next season, i believe that we need a striker instead of having Adebaoyer wasting our time or waiting for Persie to get over the injury, even Theo still needs time to fit i would love to see Benzema waring Arsenal's shirt ----> BENZEMA BENZEMA BENZEMA

I don't understand all the noise that is being made about Alex leaving. If he wants to leave, good bye! in my opinion, he hasn't created half the chances as Fabregas has this season or even last season. He is a good player, but if can't see the good things going for us at the moment and want to be a part of it, then it's his loss. For one thing, he has played more on the wings than in the centre and there are better wing players in Arsenal than he. Traore would make a better left winger and should Walcot be promoted to centre forward, Randall and Eboue and battle for the right.
As for Flamini, Song can play his position as well as Gilberto, if he remains and Denilson can mature in there too.
What's going on right now are the final stages of the transition. We have what it takes and we need the required commitment and I'm happy Wenger is not compromising that.

hahahah... you people are hilarious... why on earth should Arsenal FC pay Matthew Flamini more than Cesc Fabregas? And Wayne Rooney. And Michael Essien?

He was available on a free simply because he hadnt earned a contract extension before this season. Would I have liked him to stay? Yes. But I can understand Flamini taking £4m signing bonus and 144,000 euros/week.... looking around the Arsenal dressing room... Im sure he worried about the hulking shoulders of one Abou Diaby... three years his junior.. the capped more for FRANCE than he... Im sure watching Denilson and Song in training did little to help Flamini's confidence. Good luck to the lad

Gooners... the media have an agenda against us. Dont simply believe all that you read in the press...

Best player at Arsenal this season without a doubt, would be a major loss and hard to replace. but then if he go's he go's, we'll live with it. just one question. Why can't we keep hold of our top players and Man U can? all major clubs have a wage structure and our gate recipts are higher than any other club in the premiership so it can't be money. Hleb stay!!!!!!!!!!

As usual and unlike a large number of supporters, Arsene refuses to panic when a reasonably good player with three or four seasons behind him decides to capitalise on the one good season he has had for the club. Flamini played very well for Arsenal this year but honestly, one good season does not make a superstar. Good luck Matthieu, we'll miss you. But not as much as people seem to think. Time to shine Denilson.

How I wish Alex Hleb stays with our darling ARSENAL. His dexterity with the ball in between his feet is a wonder to see. The chances he creates for goals should be worked on to ensure that more and more goals are scored out of his efforts. Please stay with us Alex. Money is the root of all evil. So dont let that win over as some players have already been proven to be disloyal to ARSENAL because of money. Cheer up Alex and please stay wih us.
