Manager Arsène Wenger says that striker Eduardo da Silva now has to overcome the mental barriers of his injury, after reporting that his physical recovery was on track in his native Brazil.
The Croatian international suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle during the February game against Birmingham and is expected to return before the end of the year.
It was initially feared that Eduardo would never kick a ball again, let alone play competitively this year.
Wenger said: "The medical profession say he (will) make a full physical recovery.
"We don't believe physically there will be a problem afterwards, but how much impact it will have in his head when he sees the tackles flying in again only the future will tell us.
"We believe medically there is no problem - he will play again - but after that how well can he deal with it?
"He is a tough boy so I am confident he will deal with it.
"At the moment we sent him to Sao Paolo, where he was born, where he can wait before he starts rehabilitation.
"There is a good physio there in Sao Paolo who he knows, and he is taking care of him.
"When he is ready to start training at the beginning of the season he will come back of course.
"We expect him to be out completely for six months but to play really at the top, top level, it will be nine months."

more justice can be done if we sign zarate from Birmingham. That would good news.
Imagine Birmingham gained promotion because of the assistance of our player Bendtner.

Football justice is done, with BC relegated. Now let's look forward to the day when Eduardo returns to his best - which will take time! No rush job just to fill in the gaps between midfield and attack.

Agree wuth you Sly gooner about relagation of Brum twits for more than one reason. 1> They destroyed our season bthrough malicious tackle by their player whom they defended. 2> Now that they are relegated some of our players sold there will move on and like Pennant we usually get some percentage on sale-on price. Can you imagine we got £1.2m when Pennant was sold to Liverpool? I'm sure Muamba and Larson are not keen on another season in the Championship. Stokes and West Brom need strengthening. Marvelous to gain from their misery, is'nt it?

Poor Eduardo. This is good news he is expected to make a full physical recovery. I am delighted that Birmingham got relegated as reward for stuffing up our season and making excuses for what happened to Eduardo. But I'm still angry that the Football Association did not extend Taylor's ban and are not interested in a policy to punish horrible tackles like that more severely. A 3 frikken game ban for that flying kung fu tackle is obscence - Aliadiere got a 4 game ban for barely slapping someone! F.A. stands for F*CK ALL

peter smith is absolutely correct. we were cheated out of the title because of a conspiracy against arsenal. and taylor was instructed to deliberately injure our man eduardo.

I was over the moon when Murphy scored. For me it was payback time for Eduardo's injury that birmingham were relegated.I hope they stay there for as long is he unable to play.
We will never know whether Taylor accidentally or deliberately set out to injure Eduardo. As Taylor's boss had played under the red faced, the ugly head of distrust becomes very obvious. the conspiracy theory comes in especially with referring decsions. In the game a penalty was given out of nowhere. In the red faced case penalties have been given to enable him to win matches.
I'm sure thre are like minded gunner fans.

I heard he's working with the Ronaldo owned R9 clinic physio & considering that the physios there had helped the el phenomenon himself recover from a similar injury in 2001, Eduardo sure have a great chance to play at the top level again.
