Wenger happy with Song's performances
Manager Arsène Wenger has said that he's more than happy with the performances of defender Alex Song, after the youngster put in some admirable performances towards the end of the season.
Thrown in at the deep end against Manchester United, he barely put a foot wrong at Old Trafford and went on to play every minute of Arsenal's last five Premier League fixtures.
Song's performances have surprised those who questioned his ability, but Wenger was never in doubt about the 20-year-old's talents.
Wenger said: "I believe he is a remarkable player and I was one of the very, very few who believed in Alexandre Song.
"I can show you articles in newspapers which said that [he] was the worst buy I have made but you will see in one or two years that he will be a great player for Arsenal.
"Trust me, if I make a decision it is because I know all the characteristics of the player whether they are physical or mental characteristics.
"When I put a player somewhere, I know why I do. If I play Song at centre back it is because I believe he will be a great centre back for Arsenal Football Club.
"In Song's case, he can play in central midfield. But can he play 60 games there? I am not convinced."

It is surprising people are just beginning the worth a player Song is and hope we don't lose focus on him for he is a utility player.

Sounds like rubbish, Wenger spends money like it is his own. He would rather sign a 15 year old for 100k than a proper player for proper money.

Song is a good player, i tink he can fit into Flamini's wing. Master should give him chance 2 prove himself.

Let give him d chance to show is talent but that doesn't mean wenger should not sign a central back

Song is a great player and he can fit into Flamini's shoes well. When he came in as a substitute in Ghana, he really performed well.
