Winger Tomas Rosicky has admitted that he may miss the start of the new season as he struggles to regain match fitness from a niggling injury.
The Czech Republic international had already missed most of last season through the same injury and was disappointed to not have been able to help his national side progress past the first round at the European Championships.
He underwent surgery in May but the recovery process is now expected to take longer than expected.
Rosicky said: "It will be yet a long time before I return, but at the start of the new season - some time in August - I will hopefully start with training.
"It is always difficult to watch a game from the stand or from the bench.
"It is even worse if you throw away such a chance. I have never experienced anything like that.
"Unfortunately, the lads perhaps had it in their minds that they could lose the game. But if we are 2-0 up 15 minutes before the end, we simply have to fight until the end and win.
"The finish was a collapse, as if the guys stopped playing. I am very sad.
"Petr Cech made a mistake for their second goal and that was probably crucial. Our players tried to play the offside trap for the third goal, although you should never take a risk like that in at such a stage."

patience people for goodness sakes! rosicky (unlike ven persie) does not have an historical problem with injuries, and hopefully once this is sorted out he will be able to regain fitness and form. believe me, his intelligent passing and willingness to have a shot (please note Hleb!) will make a noticeable difference to our team!

As much as i like and respect what Rosicky brings to the team i feel he is too 'soft' and this cost us the premiership. Arsene needs to buy Tough men not boyz. Season hasn't started and we already have an additional casualty!!!!!!

That is the problem of signing young guys. They are prone to injuries. Wenger should be careful who to sign.

he is a good player and maybe it would be better if he was played in his best position which is in the middle instead of a winger. fabregas, henry, viera, and many more were quite young when arsene bought them, who knows these new youngsters could turn out to be just as good.

its not his fault if he is injured. injury can happen at anytime to anyone. but he plays a crucial role in arsenals attack
