Fabregas blasts Barcelona

Fabregas blasts Barcelona

By Jonathan Chong on Thursday, June 26, 2008

Midfielder Francesc Fabregas has criticised former club Barcelona of not showing enough respect to other football clubs, particularly Arsenal.

The Spanish international is fed-up with the Catalan club's constant tapping up of Arsenal players, and are currently linked with Alexander Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Fabregas also added that clubs worldwide should follow the example set by Arsenal, who are known for conducting their business in private and away from the media spotlight.

He said: "A club like Barca should show a bit more respect to the intimacy of a club like Arsenal that never make a lot of noise (over transfers) and who always try to do things properly.

"In the last few weeks it's come out that Barca are in for at least seven Arsenal players and there's no need for that.

"These things cause doubts in the mind of the players and unsettle us.

"Arsenal do things differently, always in secret, and that's much more normal.

"They shouldn't do things so that everybody knows about it. If the player wants to go he'll go anyway."

Dumbest thing I ever heard, what wrong has Barcelona done on the transfer market? Been bidding for both Hleb and Adebayor, whats wrong with that? What better does Arsenal do regarding transfers?

Cesc will return to Barca in a couple of years, when he is tired of not winning anything.

Yes, yes, yes. Finally, a prominent player calling out his hometown club for their unscrupulous and unprofessional practices. Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter are the worst offenders in attempting to dangle their big money in public. At some point, there should be some greater regulation on the part of UEFA regarding use of the media for tapping up players.

what the future best player said is some thing that barca should put in concideration because arsenal is among the present best team in the world, so i see no reason they should be facing irrelivant challenges from a team like barca

Good for you Cesc! Barca are getting to be as bad as Real regarding intentionally unsettling players. Maybe since they hear the criticism from a Catalanian (sp) and former player (who they want to sign) they will pay attention and adjust their strategies.

Cesc is totally right,i mean whats this, after finalizing the deal you have the freedom to disclose the deal or wateva but by just thinking about the deal and making the fuss is just not done.Other teams should be concerned about Arsenal ways to performs these things at least while making deals with Arsenal. And try to avoid media before the proper deal.

Ive never blogged before... but this is 'nuff said'. stuff captains are made of... super fabregas!.... oh yeah and... Arsene Knows. The future of this club is secured, not because we win trophies but because we have been thinking about the future for the past 10 years.

Its about time somebody said this. I'm sick of hearing Spanish Clubs coming out and using the media as a tool for unsettling players. They're the only teams that do it, even going as far as getting former players (I heard Zidane saying that Ronaldo should go to United) to bleat about how much better off they'd be in Spain. Its so unprofessional, so fair play to Cesc for coming out and taking a stand, especially against his former employers.

This guy is surely on the verge of becoming an Arsenal legend. He surely have Arsenal fc at heart. Recall how he consistently rebuff the calls of teams from his home country to join them. He even had to sack his agent because of his insistent that he join Madrid. With his level of commitment and loyalty, he will no doubt in the future be Arsenal captain and by the time he`d leave or retire, he would have left a mark in the history of the club.
