Adebayor: I am staying at Arsenal

Adebayor: I am staying at Arsenal

By Jonathan Chong on Friday, June 27, 2008

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has said that he has no intention of leaving Arsenal and is looking to build on his career with the Gunners.

The Togolese international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, but has always stated that it was his intention to stay.

Adebayor said: "I have a good contract, we have a good team there and I'm playing for one of the biggest teams in the world.

"The most important thing for me is to keep on enjoying my football. I'm staying at Arsenal.

"When I was young I had a dream to be a good footballer and play for a big team.

"I was born in Togo so I never cared about playing for money, my happiness was to play to enjoy myself. That's what I've been doing until now.

"You can see people changing clubs because of money, because they want a change of atmosphere or to get their names in the big leagues. I just play football to enjoy myself. I play because I love it."

One day he woke up and realised that he had scored so many goals. So he decided to change his haircut as he thought he deserved a lot more attention and spotlight. He forgot that the goals he scored were result of team play. He should be grateful, because despite his awful first touch and his third class skill, he scored because he was fed a lot of good passes. He lost his head, and he lost his goals. SWAP HIM FOR E'TO!!!!!!!!

It's a shame how the media has us attacking our own players. Unless I hear Ade saying he wants to leave on tape or video, why should I believe. Ade filled in nicely with Henry departure and now we want to crucify the man on rumours. It's sad.

let him go. He said he should earn same salary as Henry beacuse he is considered as Henry's replacement. First, he's wrong on that, no one ever told him he is henry's replacement, NOT on the peach, and not on the shirt number, maybe Walcot(now wearing no 14) will be able to replace Henry. Let him go for whatever cost, even free, he is NO Thiery Henry, and he should respect Thiery Henry. Just as C. Ronaldo showed that he's no speciasl player in Euro 2008 (i.e outside Manu team) Adebayor will languish wherever he goes. we dont need him. Let him go. I am happy the boss ruled out a meeting with him this week.

Would he be the same player with a different team, with different support,in a different team environment? I am not sure. He was very disapointing the last few months of the season - he completely lost his first touch, although he drew defenders away for others to take take advantage. He's a very good striker but I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep if he left for a good fee. I trust Arsene to come up with a great replacement.

He pissed me off yesterday. Before noon he said he`d stay. Afternoon he said that he will review his situation with Milan the biggest possibility. MONEY WILL ROLL RIGHT IN.

that`s the difference between the biggest and the big clubs.
