Defender Justin Hoyte is hoping to stay on at Arsenal, despite rumours and speculation that he is considering a future elsewhere.
The right-back says he's been encouraged by words from manager Arsène Wenger, who assures the teenager that he has a spot in the Frenchman's team.
This, despite making just two league starts and largely Carling Cup appearances.
Hoyte said: "There are rumours every day but I am contracted to Arsenal.
"The boss has said great things about me, has good plans for me and I need to show him what I am capable of."

what's with all this djourou bashing - he's a great young player. he's had a few poor games playing out of position at right-back and in centre-midfield but that's all part of the learning process so he can be a strong, technical, quick centre-back a la kolo toure.

Please lay off players who want to play for the club. The Hoyte Brothers may be a future corner stone of the club, its important that we encourage and support our players and team. Arsene Wenger has a judgement of young players that is second to none.
Just a note to anyone wanting to leave the club, have many of those who have left established themselves at other clubs? Only one player I know Frank Stapleton - nearly 30 years ago.

I agree with all, he's not top quality, and neither are Senderos (who is just terrible) and Djorou, Wenger seems to like them tho!!!

Hoyte is still developing, and the upcoming years he can be a useful squad player. He is good enough to come in for some games to give some rest the others.
at the age of 27-28 every player becomes reliable, and why should he not stay, if he doesn't complain.
take Wes Brown for example. he has never been a good player, but stayed at MU and, as he matured, played nearly the whole season and won the PL. Hoyte can play all along the backline and I think he is more talented than Brown.

Is Arsenal really a big club? If yes, then we have no reason for keeping players like Hoyte, Senderos and Djourou in our team, not even in reserves. Wenger, lets get real and keep players of quality in the team. One we could fall back to when a first team player is injured or out of form. This will enhance and sustain our pursuit of honours till season ends. Lest i forget, this article referred to Justin(Hoyte) as a teenager. Is he really a teenager?
