Hleb undergoing Barcelona medical

Hleb undergoing Barcelona medical

Winger Alexander Hleb is currently undergoing a medical at Spanish giants Barcelona.

BBC Sport understands that a deal worth £11.2 million was agreed for the Belarus international to move to Spain.

It is thought that if he passes his medical, Hleb will then sign a four-year deal for the Spanish giants on Thursday.

Heavy transfer speculation has surrounded Hleb since the end of last season, and the fleet-footed winger has never made a secret of his intention to leave, citing the pressures of living in London and playing for Arsenal.

Barcelona vice-president Marc Ingla confirmed in June that they were in talks to sign Hleb, saying: "Barcelona's negotiations with Hleb are still in progress.

"But despite him being a player with special qualities, if his club are not ready to sell him, we have other options in mind."

Players come and go, Wenger is the most important thing at Arsenal and he always will be. He can make a silk purse from a sows ear. I doubt Hleb will set Barca alight, the cash Arsenal got for him is sound and you can be sure Wenger will buy a new Hleb and have change in his pockets at the end of this.

wat is wrong with u guys.??? i admit, hleb is a wonderful player and u should be sad losing him.i still believe the only reason fabregas is still an arsenal player is ONLY his loyalty to wenger for giving him his career.WENGER PLS forget age req. and buy experience...football has changed!!!!its not like in the 90's and early yrs in this millenium ok??? I think Hleb wil thrive in BArca. The way he plays suits Spain, not England. I think his movement with Messi will be s'thing al look forward towatching next season.

As for Ade, now that AC have bought Ronaldiinho, his move that way is dead! We should tempt BArca with a trade. Eto'o plus some ca$h for Adebayor. That would just be magnificient. Whats even sweeter is that no one seems to be askin aabout Eto'o so his wage demands will have to lower significantly. It is a win-win situation!

Arsene R U listening?

what a great miss!hleb is extra good and he is at the peak of his career,he shouldn't 've been sold now and at that price.but it's part of the game, some ;ve to go for others to come and i hope that greater singnings are going to come before commencement of season.with much attribute and consideration on the flanks and a sharp attacker.

arsenal website says he's left.
i knew he was going because i went to the emirates stadium tour last week. in the changeroom, the jerseys of both hleb and adebarndoor were hanging in where the reserves' jerseys normally are.
the staff at the arsenal shop were also warning ppl not to print adebarndoor onto their replica shirts as they would not change/refund if he were to leave.
this suggests that he'll be next to go, likely to barca as milan have singed goofey.

Just saw him kissing the Barca badge on sky sports news, which annoyed me.So he was tired of the fast pace of London life, wonder if it will be different over there,to me he's just a guy who used to play for Arsenal

Tit for tat i guess. We stole...i mean...signed Fabregas from under Barca's noses. So if they take Hleb we can have no complaints.

I think it was a good bit of business. we bought him for 12 million 3 years ago and despite 10 goals in 3 years still sold him for the same amount. I have no problem with it

1)Buy Arshavin Or Quaresma
2)Give them the Number 10 Shirt
3)Give Gallas His old number 13 Hlebs shirt no
4)Sign a central defender who can deal with long ball
5) Keep Gilberto

I'm Happy

Why didn't we at least make a profit on him? It's all good but I do hope Nasir could adequately replace him. I betting next season will be Rosicky's season and then I am hoping he will not LEAVE. It seems to be the trend nowadays.

I'm a bit sad of losing such a great player.
But more when I see that we bought him more expensive than Barcelona!!!

Well, I admire Hleb very much but if he doesn't want to be here anymore, he can leave. He says that the reason for living was that he was 'mentally tired' of the combination of living in London and playing top-level football. How can someone who has spent 3 years in London still have difficulty to adapt here. I wonder if it would be different at Barcelona. Footballers these days just find unreasonable excuses to leave a club.

the sooner the likes of mohammad realise that there is no loyalty for clubs anymore. Why should a lad from belarus have loyalty for arsenal. for him its just a job!!! He's scored 10 goald in 130 appearances hardly prolific. I think we can manage. i know there's still time but so much for strengthening the squad, 2 in and 3 out so far

i agree, he's a good player but not worth keeping if he doesn't want to be here. should have sold him for a bit more though. let's see arshavin come now.

I think its good since the club has not won trophy for four consecutive seasons means t here in aproblem within and unless addressed then more players are likely to leave

Goodriddance anyone not willing to wear the shirt of our precious club should leave. Money Isn't everything in this world Hleb will soon come to realize this :)

WE SPENT 11.2M ON HIM, I'D LIKE TO THINK THAT WE WOULD HAVE MADE MORE IN RETURN, HE MADE HIS NAME AT ARSENAL. HE WAS COMING GOOD ALL LAST SEASON AND LOOKED GREAT WITH CESC, BUT WE DO HAVE NASRI.
IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY FOR US, HE CAN LEAVE

It was either Ade or Ronaldinho for AC, and then plucked for Ronny. Which gives Barce cash to splash on Hleb. Which gives us the dollar to tempt Arshavin here, and everybody's happy.
