Henry: Wenger will bring back glory days

Striker Thierry Henry has said that he has full confidence in manager Arsène Wenger bringing back the glory days to the Emirates.

It is believed that the financial burden of having moved to the new Emirates Stadium has prevented the Arsenal manager from strengthening his squad enough to challenge both Manchester United and Chelsea for domestic honours.

But ex-Gunners captain Henry remains confident Wenger will be able to get a new-look side to gel.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Arsène always does it somehow. And hopefully they will win silverware next season.

"I don't know how Arsène does it when he brings in some players who make people think 'I don't know if they are going to be ok'.

"People wonder if Arsenal are going to do anything.

"But suddenly, like last year, everyone starts raving about how Arsenal are playing and what a great team they are.

"Unfortunately for them they were really close but did not win anything last season.

"Hopefully this time they can bring some silverware back to the Emirates."

Adebayor needs to stay in Arsenal,if we lose him to we wont have a team for anykind of trophy. We lost two key players this season Flamini and Hleb I know we bought Nasri and Ramsey,Vela came back but its just not enough we need Adebayor and one more defensive midfeld player like Matheui Flamini. We dont have an agressive defensive midfeld player thats what Arsenal needs for these season we have a lot of offensive players but no defensive I hope Arsene Wenger will buy an agressive good defensive midfeld player and keep Adebayor thats the kind of team who can bring trophies these season I am a big fan of Arsenal and I hope we'll get a trophie these season.I trust Arsene Wenger

What happen with lorik cana?
endless stamina,bone-crashing tackle and aggresive type..this is what we need in midfield.tall and big..what impress me are with the way he play,he ain't got any red card in previous two season with marseile.just buy him.

i'm sure he gonna be a really good addition for the team

If Mr.Wenger gets another 2 centrehalfs and another quality forward i can see Arsenal taking the title. This is a new young team you have to remember only kolo toure remains since the glory days of 2004/05.

I agree with James (10)... Arshavin is just another Karel Poborsky!! And whats with this infactuation with Barry... He is alright but he obviously holds a candle for Liverpool so let him try and get his dream move, there's other players out there that would fit the role and the Arsenal way better. We have a lot of players that really need to stand up and be counted and I feel that CDM role is up or grabs from within the ranks. Also, Armand Traore is a good solid player.. Kino (2) thinks he isn't but then he seems to think Hleb was a good player for Arsenal... which he wasn't he was rubbish!!!!!!!!!

im getting soooo sick of hearing how we need arshavin in our team, he had one good tournament! that doesnt make him amazing. stick with adebayor hes still young and is still improving massively each year! why does one good tournament make arshavin worth the ridiculous amount they want for him.

I would like to see David Villa play for Arsenal. I think he has the Technical ability ,Skill, and a natural goalscorer.I have watched this summers euro2008 and i thought cesc and david linked up wonderfully.

I, like most people here, am a big fan of AW but he can get on my tits at times. The previous poster was right, he does have a mental block about CD’s - when in the Prem you need to be solid at the back, otherwise you get loser teams getting easy goals against you and you can’t hold a lead against the big teams. Sound familiar??? I was watching AW on ATVO today and he is getting annoying with the mystical answers he gives to everything. Of course he can’t say who he is targetting, but the vague and illusive answers he is giving, followed by the smirk is starting to wear thin. He says there is a month left in the window but we need people in now, and not just one, at least three, so that we can get them settled in to our style of play asap. Maybe he has a master plan up his sleeve and I hope he does but sometimes I think he is just stubborn, like at xmas when he didn’t bring cover in.

I am beginning to fear that we will struggle for goals this year, certainly early in the season until we get the balance right, so it’s even more imperative we have two solid CD’s. With Kolo possibly out for the first few weeks that makes it even worse and now means Ponderous will be in and he always sucks early in the campaign….even more than he usually does. We could be struggling after a few games with ground to make up. I hope I am completely wrong and am waiting to see how the more serious friendlies go for more confidence, but I am worried. Is anyone else? Last year, the team had the motivation to show that they could survive TH14’s departure….this year you would wonder where the spirit and motivation is going to come from. there seems to be a lot of negativity in the air, mostly drummed by those tossers in the press but it’s there nonetheless.

Plus, unless we build a stronger central defence and get someone in a defensive midfield role, I think Cesc might get fucked off with wasting his talents on making a champions league place. He’s won a Euro now so he’ll want to win things at club level. What do you guys think?

arshavin is not worth 21m so forget about him, if he is so amazing why is the 28 year old not at a big club already. let spurs waste their money on him.

I think Senna from spain would be an outstanding player for us, thats just the type of player we need, I know hes 30 now, but we could definately get our moneys worth from him. Gareth barrys a good player, but I think we need more of a bulldog hardworking type player.
Please Arsene sell that arrogant ingrate Adebayor, him and Hleb are unbelievable, lets sell Adebayor and splash out on someone like Eto, if Villas available, get him. What would be wonderful if we could swap Adebayor with Berbatov from spurs.
But we need an outstanding goalscorer, a true goal machine.
