Djourou raring to go

Defender Johan Djourou says that he cannot wait for the new season to start, after being injured for most of last season.

Djourou, who impressed the season before, had been tipped to break into the first team before fellow countryman Phillippe Senderos, but injury cut his progress short.

The Swiss defender told Arsenal TV: "I had that spell at Birmingham but before I had that I had a season [for Arsenal] where I played 30 games.

"Now I want to start again fresh and see how it goes.

"Last season was tough for me. The spell at Birmingham was good and I could play a lot.

"Unfortunately I got an injury that was there for a little while. That was frustrating because I want to come back and play.

"I feel good now and I am happy about that because I want to get started again."

quite honestly, I feel like we need one good/exprienced player in every position except the golie. we lack depth, thats what cost us the premiearship and CL last year...Portsmouth has more depth than us!!!

I say we still need another world class centre half..... senderos and djourou aren't as good as we need them to be...... By the way... I heard that the EPL is going to allow 7 subs on the bench this season..... Could someone confirm if it's true
