Middlesbrough have confirmed that they've tabled a bid for Arsenal defender Justin Hoyte.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger had admitted over the weekend that he had received no concrete offers for Hoyte, and that he would possiibly be looking at a loan deal to provide vital first-team experience to a number of his young players.
Right-back Hoyte, 23, is seen by Boro as the ideal replacement for Luke Young who was allowed to move to Aston Villa last week.
Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson told Sky Sports News: "We have submitted a bid and we are waiting for Arsenal to respond.
"We've given it our best offer and we hope that it happens, but if it doesn't we move on."

In my oppinion, he should go to boro, he is'nt playing regularely enough at arsenal to have a chance of having a succesfull career.

Really hasn't made the grade after so much patience. We should cash in and hopefully invest in our squad.
I dont think he has a future at Arsenal.
