Manager Arsène Wenger, smarting from the 1-0 defeat against Fulham, explained that his side's loss was the result of not having enough desire.
The Gunners seemed out-of-sorts and never really looked like getting back into the match against a physical Fulham side.
Wenger said: "When you want to play at the top you must start the game with the right attitude and personality.
"That's what we didn't do and that's a good learning lesson. It was the kind of game where you couldn't afford a mistake at the back or at a set piece.
"I believe they wanted it a bit more than us in the first half and the corner (when they scored) shows that."

Jesper..adebayor didnt contribute at all..definitely it was clichy and nasri is the best performers that day.particularly nasri.he was pulling all the string for the team.although i hate eboue but he he was one of the better performer that day.n also, dont put high hope on roSICKy..he will definitely get better and play for 3 matches and then get crocked for 3 months.sick of him already.wenger go get someone who can be fit for at least half a season.

Gallas = terrible player
denilson and theo = worst performance
sagna and clichy = excellent as usual
ade = worked his ass off and always will
The rest was very poor. With fab and rosicky back in midfield all we really need is a good defensive mid and a good center back. I think gallas has some serious issues and needs to be replaced with a decent player. Toure cant be left with all the bloody work to do and fixing up all of gallas's mistakes. he works hard enough already. toure can be the best defender their but needs a decent player alongside him

AW needs to buy players and stop all this nonsense.Senderos is out to Milan. Is ewenger losing it?It should be Djhourou and not Senderos going on loan.
whats tyhe game plan this season? Can Wenger tell us...this team will not be able to win any trophies IF they keep playing like this.
Saturday was so poor...why play Walcott, Eboue, denilson and Nasri across midfield.the only person (Nasri)next to creativity was placed on the flank. Why not bring in Wilshere or Ramsey.V.persie, Denilson and Walcott werent cutting it at all...so why leave 'em on the pitch that long.
Its sad to see our team on a down slide ..its like we are beginning to embrace and acommodate MEDIOCRITY.

We deserved to lose. We played basically long balls in the first half and begining of second half. Fulham played more passing game and looked more like Arsenal than us. If we continue to play long balls I am going to switch to Rugby.

I know that this is going to appear disrespectful but how many of you who post on here actually go to games? It'd be a long trip for some as they live on the other side of the planet. Arsenal have got no money, Wenger's keeping this ship afloat and all you lot can do is blame him...he knows more about football than any of us, that's why he's paid so highly. Let him do his job, which is to manage, while we stick to ours, which is to support. There's no divine right for Arsenal to be top dogs, just enjoy the fucking football.

It's time to replace Wenger with someone else who can do the job for Arsenal. We've been tired of his economical visions, which i seriously doubt that he is paid for every penny saved in the transfer seasons. Also, does it make sense to raise Adeshit's wage while allowing Flamini's departure for Milan for as little as a 5000 difference? Wenger, you've lost it, big time. Your in-game control is shiit also. You were lucky to have won some trophies because of the talents from Bergkamp, Henry, Pires and Vieira. Without them, you are just an average FOOTBALL manager, though you are an expert in economics. I don't know how long you can still fool all our fans and the football world before finally got sacked! Don't waste the talents in Clichy, Cesc, Sagna, and don't cheat us again that you could have success with these kids. And don't ever use injury as excuse again as you know we now have those still in the recovery room. If you still care about this job, and us fans, 1) SELL Adebayor, and buy someone at the same calibre as David Villa; 2) get Alonso; 3) bench Toure and play Djourou instead; 4) get one proven keeper; 5) do everything you can to keep everybody fit for important games. OR, you may pack your things and go back to your hometown, maybe PSG or Monaco are better suited with your style, because they are small clubs with limited budget and they are feeder clubs too.

I think arsene must know hes making a very stupid decision for not buying a world class central defender, midfielder and a striker.Hes just out a break the fans heart this season and i think he has nothing to offer Arsenal again.I think we need a new coach with new ideas who will be willing to sign players.Wenger is a very PROUD and EGOMANIC man who is feels he knows more anybody else. The fans are the real owners of the game not you.

I have always supported AW but from what I saw in the past two games, and from the midfield we lost, I am not sure if i can support AW at this time. It seems complete mismatch of decisions he took. Almost every ball was going to the wings because there was no one to hold the ball in the Fabregas and Flamini area. I was hopeful when last season started as we had Rosicky, Fabregas, Flmini, Hleb and Gilberto for back up. What do we have now? Is Wenger really going to win away games of the top 10 with Fabregas as the only viable player in that popsition? I am afraid we are not going to be near the top. I am afraid it is going to be carling cup team we have, given that there will be some injuries, suspensions, etc.

One poor performance a bad team does not make. Games like these came at the back end of last season. Hopefully we can get them out of our system early and then mount a challenge finishing strong. We have let leads slip away before so I think we maybe better suited to coming from behind rather than maintaining the top spot through the season. 36 games to go and the frustration is set in good but I for one and keeping the faith. Of course we need a couple of players but I believe they will come cos Wenger is no mug in the transfer market. And why would David Dean be licking his lips?? I'm sure no matter what the beef is he would want the team to do well.

I don't think it's time to push the panic button, game two and all; on the other hand, why can't we sub out players who are obviously having crap games? Eboue, Denilson, yeah, yeah, let's not hurt their feelings. Is this what it's come to? Worrying about feelings? C'mon, they're pros. This was a big issue last season. Loyalty is great but being reality-based is better.
The midfield is killing us.

Everyone is blaming the players, but the players arent bad with cesc and many more injured. The problem is the style of playing that arsenal plays. Every team is getting used to this style and it needs to be changed, because this style of playing (playing from the sides ONLY and making crosses)doesnt open lots of options. The team should also play central to open options such as giving through passes to ade or RVP, also you can widen the pitch by giving passes to either walcott or samir nasri. By doing that this will mix the playing and would be harder to predict. Another point is RVP should regularly practice free kicks as well as some other players, to incease the chances of scoring from them.

From those few minutes I saw that Song was so much determined to become a world class player. So if Arsene doesnt buy anyone into the midfield it's the Alex Song who must pair Cesc, there's no-one else. He's strong, have pace and skill to make good passes. I hope that in the next game he will start.

Arsene Wenger, his wonderful ERA has gone. it's true. AW still don't want to sell Eboue, the weakest player in the team. in fact, this player is still in the 1st eleven squad. AW still don't want to buy a good defensive midfielder. Denilson technically good, but lack of experiences. we also need a great backup for Fabregras in the central. see what happened to our team when Fabregras is not in the squad againts Fulham. no one can deliver the ball greatly to Ade and RVP, except for Sagna. what are u thinking right now Mr AW? still want to let us down this year? no way!

It's hard to know who to blame for yesterday's loss, but the shortcomings in general have to fall on Arsene's shoulders. Arsenal has been pathologically incapable of taking advantage of clear chances since Henry left (and even before). Yes, we did well last season but we were lucky. We simply do not have the attacking threat necessary to win the League. Unless this team miraculously learns to hit the target, we're in for another trophyless season folks...

Enough calling for Wenger to go. He is an amazing coach. Lets wait to see if he buys a central midfielder before we right the season off. Last year all of the pundits had us finishing 6th and we led for most of the season. The only real difference between this year and last is the gaping hole in central defense. As soon as we finish it we should be back on top. My only other concern is Gallas. I think he is such a difficult fish that he is likely to cause a lot of trouble if he looses the captaincy. I think Wenger should consider selling him so that he can make someone else the captain without the potential difficultes Gallas could create.

It is said a team of our calibre, after last season, doesn't have the desire. How can it be??? I hope Wenger tells them how exactly they played, but I fear it won't take effect. He will continue to make the same mistakes, like he has been doing with putting Eboue in the midfield. I'm sad that from the promising team we had last year we arrived to this point when only one first team player is missing (Cesc, as Rosicky isn't a first teamer, he is never fit to be) and we can't even keep the ball against a relegation-fodder opposition, nevermind make chances.

lets all calm down a bit, yes it was a very poor performance, yes we lacked creativty and yes we were weak at the back again. I think Arsene knows whats wrong and he will put it right. We do need a top class central midfielder and I think we'll get one. Are we going to win the league this year? I think not but with the right experienced player(s) brought in now we can start to dominate like the cockney mamcs when taggart was on the verge of unemployment.
So lets get behind the team and not put more presure on by slagging.

I have resigned myself to the fact that we will not be winning any silverware this season!! I know many will disagree with me, however the match against Fulham has convinced me that the team, with or without Fabregas,Rosicky et al, will not survive the rigours of the season...unless the squad is strenghened with experience. Over the last 4 years we have failed to overcome determined oppostion who come to the pitch with a gameplan (by the way we always lack one)plus the fact that we have gradually had a reduction in the number of goals scored by us.AW dreamt of a revolution and initiated his dream but his desire to realise this dream is blinding him to the fact that there are some flaws in the action plan.
First of all i think he got rid of the experienced players too soon, secondly, his bias for French players has distracted him from being practical (what the hell is Silvestre doing at Arsenal? Oh yeah, i forgot he was free and of course is French). We talk of the team having quality & pontential, only two or three have quality while the rest are potential and having potential means you could achieve quality but are not there yet. Finally potential does not win silverware quality does(has any one noticed that we have no freekick specialist?)

Unless Wenger gets his act together and buys some talent into the squad to help the youngsters such as Denilson, Walcott, etc. that will help them to mature, then we can expect the likes of Fabregas and RVP to go next season.
If the club are refusing to release fees then Wenger should take a stand and demand more funds - if he doesn't get them then he needs to leave on a matter of principle. But it seems to be a case the Wenger thinks he can get glory if the youngsters win something this season without Wenger having to buy a big name player. IF that's the case - then Wengers getting too big for his boots. I'd love to see him get some quality: 1 up front, 1 in mid field and 1 centre back.

It is very wrong too say everything is wrong after 1 lost game. Which a lot of the people here are doing. I think we can say Walcott is indeed average and Toure and Gallas are a serious doubt but the team had an off-day yesterday. Dont say everyone is crap. RVP has a great free kick but overdid himself yesterday. Ade should not leave as he and Clichy were Arsenals best players on the pitch. Working their socks off.
The thing that frustrates me is when we are 1-0 down there is nobody putting crosses in. We're in the 88 min and still trying to make the perfect goal. Strange when thinking the closest Arsenal got was Adebayor after Sagna's cross.. I think we can blame Wenger for that. This is tactics. Why do we see Ade and Bendtner taking throw-ins when they should be in front of goal because theyre both great headers.
And we do indeed need another good midfielder. Arsenal did not get their passing game going because Denilson and Eboue failed to pass it under the pressure Fulham gave.
But dont say AW should go after one lost match. Lets hope for 1 more signing and the return of Fabregas and Rosicky in midfield. Then we will be perfectly fine.

Please, Wenger, spend the money you always said you had and buy one proven striker and one super midfielder, otherwise we would be lucky enough to finish 6th. This team looked really helpless and headless last night, and for the first time i felt that RVP should practise free kicks before he squanders so many chances again. And we must get rid of Adebayor if we want to move forward. Finally, Toure looked like a fool. Djourou is better paired with Gallas.

I, having been relaxed and patient, am now approaching disillusion. Last season was 'we play beautiful football, but don't win trophies'. Now we play badly and still wont win. I'm 100% behind Wenger, but this so called policy has gone too far. All up for not spending big, but we're not spending at all. We replace who we sell, we never go out and buy to improve the squad. I don't want 30 million pound signings, just a couple more decent Nasri level buys, so the players can fight for their place, and we have cover for injuries. Sure, Diaby is injured, but guaranteed, he will be injured at least 2 or 3 more times this season. Sure Song is there. But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding, and our pudding is continually half baked and now its beginning to taste bad too. We are a high tempo, technical passing side. Eboue, doesn't fit that profile, nor does Theo. Walcott has potential when all our first teamers are out there, because we stretch teams with our neat passing and clever movement, and he, with his pace, can attack the gaps. Without those gaps, he is rather lame, and devout of ideas, or technical threat. Nasri also, will be overwhelmed when we have no spoiler, and a lack of decent passers. What, when we have all our players back, will be our first team? When Wenger gets all the players fit, and playing, we will be up there. But we wont win, due to injuries to the like of Van Persie, Diaby, Rosiky-who will all be regulaly in the sick bay, and Wenger's dislike of putting his hand in his pocket. Eboue is not a central midfielder or a winger, and walcott is no Pires, Overmars, freddie or Hleb. He is, when Isolated, distinctly average.

I THINK THE PLAYERS SEEM TO HAVE LOST THE PLOT. THEY WERE FANTASTIC IN PRE SEASON AS WELL AS THE FIRST MATCH AGAINST WEST BROM. PLAYERS LIKE NASRI AND DENILSON DID NOT CONTROL THE MIDFIELD AND WE WERE BEATEN AS WELL AS ADEBAYOR AND VAN PERSIE SHOULD HAVE SCORED WITH THEIR CHANCES. I FEEL IF ARSENE WENGER DOES NOT SIGN TWO OR THREE MORE PLAYERS REST ASSURED THE FANS WILL HAVE A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT THIS SEASON AND I FEEL THE LOSS AGAINST FULHAM HIGHLIGHTED THAT WE WILL DEFINATELY NOT WIN THE TITLE THIS YEAR LET ALONE CHALLENGING IT UNLESS BIG IMPROVEMENTS COME IN.

I believe Arsene's hands are tied when it comes to finances and i think the Arsenal shareholders were quite prepared to let Adebayor go as well.
Yesterday was one of the worst performances ive seen from Arsenal in years. I have to say putting Eboue and Denilson in midfield was a disaster. Denilson gave the ball countless times, and playing the ball with the outside of his boot with those weak flicks.. and silly chipped passes.. they were so easily cut out.
Sagna and Clichy are not wingers... so why do we keep trying to get them to play one-two's on the edge of the area.
Van Persie is all over the place and no-where near the player he was.
We need a Pires, Ljungberg, Wiltord, direct players... bottom line is we need to sign established internationals.

this is a shame to fans. could any one tell me what is the job of the players once they are in the field? what do u mean by 'we didn't have enough desiresss', what kind of manager r u? u have the whole second half to kick ur players ass if they showed less desires in the first half. that is the lamest excuses i have heard from the manager of ur reputation.........u don't care about fans.,,u r just raking in more money season on season out....i am thr with arsenal. it is no wonder if they loose every away game this season for the simple reason that the squad is the weakest of all PR teams this season............

wenger stop faffing about this is totally your fault. You had all this time to buy a player but he didnt. why he would let flamini AND gilberto go then bring aaron ramsey as replacement. for gawds sakes his my age.Now we are in dire need of a DM,Im sure wenger must be kicking himself for not increasing flaminis pay by £5000 now we going to have to find a new player around 15mil and pay wages. the fulham game was a bloddy woeful best player was Eboue.

It is time Tony Adams is in the management.AW can take care of economics.Tony the Football.
It is painful to say the truth.
AW has stopped performing for a while now.
It is time he quickly recognises that and brings in Tony who is eager to do it.His recent footballing judgements are to say the least amusing while the economic vision still make sense.
But without football what is Arsenal & its economics?
AW has definitely let Arsenal slip considerably over the year when the presuure is on TO PERFORM FOR RESULTS.

Why Denilson and Walcott was not substituted earlier baffles me. They were playing badly, misplacing passes all over the place and yet nothing was done till late game. imo Wenger isn't playing the sub game well. Van persie hadnt had form since he came back from injury last season, yet he was preferred over bendtner. Truly amazing. -_-

It's going to be a long year unless AW brings in some muscle.

The Arsenal team yesterday should have been good enough to beat Fulham. Gallas again was at fault for their goal. He brings nothing to the team. Eboue tries hard but is limited. Denilson and Wlacott were rubbish. It took him 65 minutes to change Walcott and he kept Denilson on for 90 minutes. If I was sat on the bench I would consider my position because surely anyone would have been better than these two. I think I saw Wilshire getting warmed up for 20 minutes and was still along the touchline at full time. Maybe Mr Wenger's watch had stopped.. As for Adebayor. He was our worst player last week and were it not for out two 0/10's Walcott and Denilson he would have been the same this week. Wenger must take most of the blame. We had one shot on target in 90 minutes. I am so glad we werent pakying a good team or we would have been serverly embarrassed.

arsene wenger need to understand that arsenal's squad is not good enough to win any title...they are still missing flamini, hleb and gilberto....so its better to bring good midfielders like alonso and veloso.. our strikers are not sharp enough now...in the first two games it was a very poor performance from strikers...what will happen if we are playing against chelsea or liverpool...?

Take the blame Wenger. We all saw Denilson having a poor match, is there any reason to play him 90 munites? V.Persie also poor, yet not substituted.

i dont like to right players of but when you play eboue centre midfield then what do you expect. but i no it was a bad performance from the team but surley wenger nose now that he has to sign a centre midfielder and some backup players to have any chance of winning the league

It's not desire we lack, it's talent.Eboue,Denilson,Walcott together in midfield is at best only Carling cup quality. Wenger is loosing it, Fabregas will go next season.
A club with over half a billion in assests are trying to save a few million and jepodising the season in the process.David Dein must be licking his lips !!
