Whilst many Arsenal fans are unsure of what to think on the signing of Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United, defender William Gallas wrote on his personal website that he was more than happy with the Gunners' latest recruit.
Silvestre's signing means that Philippe Senderos has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal, and has subsequently agreed a season-long loan move to Italy, suggesting that Silvestre has been signed as anything other than a squad player.
The former 'Red Devil' has been described as a 'great professional' and 'experienced' player by his new captain, who is hopeful his injury problems are behind him.
Gallas believes that the 32-year-old will bounce back to his best form at Emirates Stadium, after spending most of last-season on the sidelines with an injury.
The Frenchman said: "Mikael is an experienced player who is going to bring us all his savoir-faire.
"And he knows perfectly the Premier League after playing here for ten years.
"Therefore, his arrival is a good thing, and even if he suffered several injuries, he remains a great professional, thirsty for matches and no doubt he is going to find his best form."

For me this signing actually could be consider a good buy...as for this pre-season we not buying any experience player and silver is one of the good choices. Hope that he can lift up the Gunner while he was in our squad

why discrimination by wenger. He believes too much on the french counterparts. Why is edu treated in such away he was treated at arsenal. Silvester is 30 years plus. It is very unfair of Wenger
