Wenger praise for Alex Song

Manager Arsène Wenger has praised Alex Song, whom he says has the technical abilities to be both a central midfielder or defender.

Song came to the fore at the end of last season and has impressed many quarters with his passing and tackling capabilities.

Speaking to the official website, Wenger said: "[When I signed him I liked] his personality, his technical quality, his composure, his strength in the one against one, the way he uses his body in the fight and, overall, his intelligence.

"He is a good centre back and he is a good central midfielder. I believe in him."

Once again for those who think we miss Hleb.... Does anyone hold the same opinion as me??? Helb is not rubbish but he is not an Arsenal player...even he himself realised that. Why do people still crap on about him especially now we got Nasri in that position?? Anyone who thinks we miss Helb clearly does not understand the Arsenal way... 2 goals for the season just doesn't cut the mustard at Arsenal. You have to get atleast half of what Overmars or Pires used to get...7/8 goals ATLEAST. As for comparing Walcott and Hleb.... go home DW....and if you are at home stay there and watch how many games we didn't win with Hleb in the team....the stats don't lie. We won more games when he didn't play than when he did. Thats it.

u dont need big games to judge a good team.this team is slightly better than last year.even against so called small teams,we usually left it late.but this group fight 4 90 minutes.every sub puts in his best.and i am certain those post january injuries wont re occur.finally AW never said he wanted to replace flames.he saig he needed and extrra body in midf but that if he diidnt find a good body he rely on our boys and it is walking.truth is theo aint hleb.theo brings what hleb cant.he shocks the opposition.ask liverpool ask bolton ask croatia.i love this group.did u notice persie didnt play?no becos nik did so well.den and song are showing box to box qualities which flames lacked.

We found a much better replacement for helb and its the talented Nasri, Helb was only good on holding and passing through the opposition players and not forgetting that it took him same time to adjust. Nasri can hold the ball, pass through players, can tackle, run the whole 90 mins plus a bonus of scoring goals. He is still young and it did not took him time to adjust.

He never said he was looking for a replacement for Flamini, what he said was that he beleived there was space for another body in midfield. Most fans like yourself however could only accept the media/pundit's view hook, line and sinker that Arsenal needed to replace Flamini.

As my friend has stated arsenal's perfomace isn't tasted on what i could call small games, let us first hold on teams like the big four then shall we know our worth .
dont be blinded that also we hard a very good start last season but how did we finish , this also applies to man u which did not start well but it ended well so our perfomance will be put on a litmus paper come may next year.lets hold on and may be we wish our team all the best

wat's likely to bing glory and happeness to all Arsenal funs is Walcott you saw his coming changed the game that i almost saw Bolton eaqualising, the other factor is the players this time are all willing for a first place and i believ everyone deserves coz they are playing with their hearts, and for anyone given a chance he proves credit goes to Nicklas,Super Eboue who argubully and Denilson are my Best players so far,ADE he has turned his game to another level instead of poaching goals he's also creating them Go on Arsenal

IT IS GOOD OUR PLAYERS ARE COMING ON FINE THROUGH THIS SEASON. EBOUA, SONG AND DENILSON HAVE SHOWN WHAT QUALITIES THAT MADE ARSENE SIGN THEM. MAY GOD KEEP THEM INJURY FREE.

Now if the believe and conviction was so strong on these youngsters, why did he even look for replacements after the exit of Flamini, would it have been easier to state the obvious on Flamini's departure? The expectation and anxiety of the fans would have been unneccessary, and the fans will accept anyway. While Denilson is trying very hard and progressing,Song still has to step up,both in pace and passing, but the experience which is vital in big matches to partner Cesc is lacking. Hence the defence was not able to break up opposition attacking. The brilliance of scoreline should not be used to mask over a glaring problem. While the season is still young, should he not be looking for solution instead of more explanations when winter and big games bite?

but for our LAME finishing we could have beat Bolton 6 or 7-1. Song is showing his worth. I hope he can stay injury free so he can get a good run this season and concrete a place in the first team. He looks a good contender for that DMF role.

Song has been playing very good at the moment the only problem with arsenal is the most of our players are not shape enough yet, if they was then we would of killed bolton.
