Gallas: I hope we're not being complacent

Captain William Gallas is hoping that the shock defeat to Hull City was not the result of his team being complacent or not treating their opponents with enough respect.

Arsenal slumped to a shocking 2-1 defeat on Saturday and will now have to pick themselves up in time to face Porto on Tuesday.

Speaking to Arsenal TV, Gallas said: "I don't think so and I hope not because if we think like this we will not go anywhere.

"The players were ready to play a strong game, we were not lucky and we have to work more and try to stay in the fourth position.

"It's very difficult to accept. We said all the time we wanted to win every game and we lost 2-1 to Hull City.

"Hull showed the character, they showed they can play football. They were very strong and we were not strong enough, so we have to forget that game and think about the next game on Tuesday."

Wenger, surely messed us up because there's no single match ever won by Arsenal when chasing the game with Three strikers on the pitch and further made matters worse when he added on a fourth one - Vela. Also, by now he sh'l be knowing that the Ade Van persie twin can never yield to anything good. It's always got to be Bentner Van persie OR Bentner Ade OR Vela Bentner Or Vela with either Van/Ade for Arsenal to surely kill off the game before 70mins.

Also, 90percent of the goals arsenal is conceeding now days are as a result of Gallas' mistakes - wonder whether Wenger's too blind to see that. I pray Gallas gets an injury that can keep him out like for SIX months maybe that's when he (Wenger)'ll know what we fans are talking about.

it's just one loss. if any of you knew more than wenger about gallas or anyone else on the squad then you woud be the manager. let him do his thing, he wouldnt give gallas the captain's armband if he didn't have confidence in william. every team loses and every promoted team gets at least one big win. and at least one promoted team starts out well and stays in the top half for some of the season. hull just happens to be that team this year. stop looking back at the loss and look forward to yesterday's game vs porto and the upcoming league play. gallas will stay in the side, fabregas wont slow down, adebayor will score 20, and V. persie will come back from injury with flying colors and he'll make us proud.

its amazing that gallas has the guts to open his mouth and speak when he himself was the cause of the second goal......... he has been such a shit playa,

Anyone notice that he was the culprit who lost the ball back in Germany leading to the move that caused us conceding a penalty??.... Granted he scored the equaliser, but then he should try n get more focused himself,

Talk of the pot calling the Kettle black

to be honest, i think the players were complacent in that match. they beginning 2 believe that they can win any game with ease. yes, it's true but they have to show respect 2 every team they play. i was really disappointed on dat nite. i hope we bounce back on time.

Gallas shouldn't be anywhere near the first team

too bad wenger choose him as our captin and Number 10 FFS

worst number 10 and captin in Arsenal history
