Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has urged his team mates to remain focused and maintain the same level of determination they showed against FC Porto on Tuesday.
The Gunners face a difficult tie against Sunderland and will not want to lose any further ground against their main title rivals in the Premiership, especially after having a relevantly easy start.
Adebayor also revealed that the players were not worried about facing Porto after having suffered a shock loss to Hull City last weekend.
The Togolese international said: "I don't think we were nervous before the game. We were quite calm. We know we can play and we were at home.
"We knew if we put the ball on the ground and played our football we would have a lot of chances to win the game.
"But as a player it is difficult. You just have to tell yourself, what happened, happened. These things happen in life. Losing to Hull is not like a crime.
"It can happen in football. We had to show character and belief in our personality. But we took our lesson.
"We are top of our group and we took our three points so we are happy.
"The most important thing now is are we going to play on Saturday. That is the question we have already put inside our head. We have learned a lot of good things [against Hull] and we hope to repeat that on Saturday.
"It will be difficult because we play away. But we need more concentration and see how we go."
