Adebayor puts Arsenal first

Adebayor puts Arsenal first

By Jonathan Chong on Monday, October 6, 2008

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has said that he will be putting Arsenal first before his home country, even if there are national competitions to participate in.

Adebayor's decision comes on the grounds of not feeling appreciated when playing for his national side.

He said: "It's like if somebody has something valuable and he doesn't want to take good care of it.

"You then have someone who does want to take care of it - then you know who it belongs to.

"Arsenal are still playing in all four competitions so for me that has to come first."

i agree that he did become a bit selfish last season, especially at birmingham, but at least he's not as selfish this season,i mean he has assisted a few goals, eg denilson vs bolton, van persie vs porto. DC, ade is awesome.

DC, you must be blind or what. Awesome? If Torres were wearing our jersey, we'd be top of the league and would have won the title last year? What kind of goals has Adebayor scored so far? Two headers, two pk's, and one one-on-one chance whilst we were leading 3:0 at Blackburn. He has yet to score an important, or game winning goal, and has wasted many passes from open play. I don't know how Fabregas' will feel. Glad to know that Eduardo is back soon. For the record, Nasri scored the winning goal against West Brom; RVP opened scoring against both Blackburn and Porto; Bendtner scored the winning goal to make it 2:1 at Bolton; what has Adebayor done to make you think he is AWESOME? Ridiculous!

ade was just jogging around the pitch agants sunderland i do think he is a good player put hes form is so up and down i think bentner is the next best thing he needs to get a run in the side because when he has comes on hes are best player il play bentner and rvp in the next game and play vela on the left and put silvester centre bk and put kola-t as a holding midfild player until diaby gets fit.

well what can i say..i dont see wat Mr Wenger saw in hin in da first place. Wenger has brought fantastic foreign players over the years( henry, pires, veira etc) but ade was a mistake. Am not saying he is scrap am just saying he doesnt fit our way of football. Should have sold him when he wanted to go. he wouldnt have been a great lost anyways. The guy scores 1 in every 3-4 chances. This aint us. Just wait until da silva comes back..he will teach him to finish like a gunner. I believe theo walcott contributes more than ade..but still as long as he is wearing a arsenal i gotta wish him da best of luck and hope he finished more chances.

I think Ade is trying to show his lotalty towards arsenal after the trasfer saga. He deserve a second chance! It would be nice if we all arsenal fans go behind him and our players! PLEASE :-)!

This guy has no class at all! Of course he puts Arsenal before his own country, since it is Arsenal who pay him 80k a week for his crap football whilst his country paid him almost nothing for his service at WC2006. We have seen his greedy and lazy attitude last year which most famously shown at the game at Birmingham that cost us the league title eventually. This year we saw him begged RVP to give him the PK at Blackburn on route to his first hattrick of the season. To me, it's quite obvious that he only cares about his own scoring streak that in deed could affect his wage. So Adebayor, just tell us the truth that YOU PUT MONEY FIRST!!! And cut the rest bullshit! You have to play in the reserve team to learn how to protect the ball and when to run, where to position yourself... He is a disgrace to all Arsenal fans, and we will never win anything with him being our first choice striker. I miss Eduardo much! And I firmly believe, given equal chance, Vela will be 100 times better and can score 3 times more goals than Ade. Vela reminds me of Messi at Barca.
