Wenger: Silvestre ready, Ramsey in squad for Everton

Manager Arsène Wenger has revealed that defender Mikael Silvestre is available for selection after overcoming his injury problems.

The Frenchman signed from arch-rivals Manchester United in the summer and has already made an appearance for the reserves.

Wenger believes that Silvestre can provide the Gunners with the necessary experience that has been lacking in defensive situations lately.

He said: "Mikael is ready to compete for a place, he is ready to play.

"I believe he can help us to solve that [set-plays] because he is a committed player and good in the air.

"He throws his body in where some other people don't do it. I am convinced he can give us on that front something which is needed in the team."

Wenger also said that new signing Aaron Ramsey, who made brief appearances for the club early in the season, is ready to play for the first team.

The 17-year-old put in a superb performance for Wales Under-21s on Tuesday night and capped a man-of-the-match display with a stunning 30-yard strike.

Wenger has rewarded the ex-Cardiff midfielder with a place in his squad to face Everton.

Wenger added: "He is close [to the first team] because he is in the squad today.

"He is 17 and a half-years-old, you have to be realistic as well. I think nowhere in the world do players so young get regular chances in the squad as much as here at Arsenal Football Club.

"On top of that, you cannot rush me to make it any quicker."

yup....thats a good move by wenger...players can share their experiance...n where winnin n achievin sumthin is considered....i dont think the squad needs 2 worry...they're good...i support the gunners coz they play 4 the fun of playin ...dats the true spirit...not just winnin...which is the aim of sum clubs...u kno...they're the gunners...n every time, they fire away...its just that they need 2 make good use of certain matches against certain clubs to score well....i think that shd b fine.

arsenal need to buy good player not youngboy,because we need to win sometin this timearound,b,cos we fans are argee with d situation of tin with d club,so we need to act fast before things get out of hand.
