Defender Mikael Silvestre was pleased with his Arsenal debut, especially after having returned from injury.
Some quarters in the media were blaming a lapse of concentration from the Frenchman which resulted in Everton's goal on Saturday, but Silvestre was for the most part composed in an unfamiliar central-defender partnership.
Speaking to France Football, Silvestre said: "I was so happy to return within the group and to be involved in this encounter.
"I managed to play the entire game without any physical issue, I felt good within this team and this defence.
"And we deserved this victory after conceding such an early goal."

He was shaky at the very start of the game but steadily grew into the game and kept the defending tight. From the looks of it, Wenger might have pulled off one of his master strokes in signing Silvestre. Lets hope I have not been too hasty with this comment.
