Midfielder Denilson has spoken about his recent breakthrough at Arsenal, and says that he is thankful to Gilberto Silva for his guidance and tutelage.
Signed by Sao Paulo at the age of 14, he captained Brazil from Under-15 to Under-19 level but really came to prominence at the 2005 World Under-17 Championships in Peru.
He joked: "When you are captain of Brazil you are not exactly a secret!
"There were a number of interested teams but Arsenal were one of the first to approach me and I decided to sign for them.
"The main reason was because of the manager, Mr Wenger, because of his policy to work with young players, develop them and turn them into really good professionals.
"It was not easy for me at first. I came to England at 18 and really struggled to settle in. I was living alone, knew no one, could not speak the language and the weather was so cold.
"Everything was so different to back home in Brazil. I owed so much to Gilberto Silva. He was amazing.
"Even though he is older than me, he was always there for me with good advice and friendship."

I'd say jus keep on going, believing in yourself, the talents you have been given, and how to keep on developing that talent, literally infinitely. Learn from Mr Wenger, and the likes of Petit, Viera, and you wont go far wrong. And above all, remember the game today is all about a fantastic squad, not just a good one, so go arm in arm alongside Ramsey, Wilshere, let alone fabregas n Diaby.. n dont be tempted to jump ship, to so-called greener pastures.. good luck son !

denilson looks to be growing into the player that arsene said.he has about 6-7 games out of ten where he is involved in most of the game.key passes and commited with an eye for goal.at his age he can only get better especially with the players he has around him.i would love to see him train with dennis bergkamp.add some of the maestros touches and skill to his undoubted ability.
