Manager Arsène Wenger has admitted that he overused striker Emmanuel Adebayor last season, resulting in the Togolese international suffering from burnout.
The Frenchman was explaining his surprise decision to not start Adebayor against West Ham, only to call on him as a substitute.
The tactic paid dividends, with Adebayor's presence in the penalty area resulting in an own goal and he scored another, giving the Gunners a 2-0 win.
Wenger said: "Last year I overused him.
"Now we go into a period where you play every three days. When there is a little breather in the championship you play a game in the Champions League.
"[That's why] I want to rotate a little bit. I have a small, compact squad but it is full of quality and I can only show that by trusting the players who are young but have quality."

regard to wenger sub. he shld pls always make the changes in time, especially when we really need to win and the idea of bringing carlos vela and be playing him for every last 4mins of the game is worrysome. at least he shld be playing not less than 25 mins. tanx
