Striker Theo Walcott says that he is proud of the resolve and determination showed by him and his team mates against West Ham.
The Gunners had to dig deep on a cold night at Upton Park and produce a performance that pushed the Hammers back and earn three vital points.
Arsenal have been criticised this season for being of fragile mind when playing against teams who rely on a more physical approach but Walcott says that the result against West Ham showed that they have improved.
Walcott said: "We knew what to expect when we came to Upton Park and we dug in.
"The main thing is the three points - sometimes people say that we do not do all the dirty things, which we did during the first half, and that frustrated them at times.
"Then we just dug in and got our goal in the end, before Ade's second killed the game off.
"It goes to show that we do not just play pretty football and we can put our foot in when it has to be done.
"The title will go down to the wire and there are going to be a few teams in the race.
"No game is easy because every team in the Premier League is difficult now, it is so competitive.
"However, we just have to concentrate on our selves and winning our own games."
