Wenger: It is my job to motivate the team for Stoke

Manager Arsène Wenger has promised to do all he can to pick the team up and motivate them ahead of the weekend clash to Stoke.

The Gunners are deflated after having conceded two goals in the dying minutes against Tottenham last night which resulted in a 4-4 goalfest, but failure to capitalise and earn the three points.

Wenger said: "They are deflated, of course. It is difficult because the players are very, very disappointed so it is my job to do that [build them back up] and it is my job to make sure there is no resentment against the mistakes we made.

"We dropped two points tonight and it is unfortunate because all of our opponents and title contenders won. Because of what we produced tonight we should have won. We made the minimum with the quality of our game.

"I believe there are a lot of positives after the game and the team can take a lot of encouragement from that. Nowadays you only judge the game by the result.

"Tonight we either go back home and say 'we are not good enough' or we think we have a fantastic side coming out here so let's work hard to make the maximum with what we have in the team."

Well l just want to say that is not a bad game just we lost concentration when it matter most. What l will like to tell our coach is that we need a strong central mid-fielder and a reliable defender during the mid-transfer in december2008.Left to me we can still improve on our performance.

I think arsene should just stop giving excuses and be focused on the next game like he said. Personally I do not see us as a contender this season, only a short sighted arsenal fan would subscribe to that school of thought.

Still, he can't expect us to get behind the team after producing one shocker after another. I expect to see someone axe from the squad on sat.

I think as a long suffering fan of Arsenal, who could not go to sleep last night because of the pain I felt as a result of the draw, I'm sick & tired of Wengers spin.

None of the other top 3 teams would have lost a lead like that. Why does Wenger keep giving intelligent Arsenal supporters more spin and excuses??
