Sorensen: Arsenal lack physical strength

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has said that Arsenal lack a physical edge to their game, something that Manchester United and Chelsea have.

Sorensen said: "With the way the other teams are playing, it's going to be really hard for them.

"They have shown in the past they are a fantastic football side but they are just lacking that bit of physicality.

"When Chelsea came here, they matched us in the challenges whereas Arsenal weren't quite there. That's the difference.

"They lack that bit of spine you need. I expected more of them. Once we got the second goal, it felt like we were cruising. They lost belief.

"I think they expected a bit of an easier ride and no one's going to get that here."

ý am quite agree with sorensen.wegner is really great and talented manager it cannot be discussed.in a team there must be young player but not like this.it's like a young fetishism.we all want success in short time.we are rich and everyone would love to play here.ý think all we need an experienced defensive midfielder to command and set up all team.future is ours, all players gonna be a legend for gunners and also for their nation

i agree..last time we have vieira,parlour,keown,adams..they all have a good physical strength.i think arsenal only have alex song have a good physical strength.ARsenal is in EPL not La Liga or French Ligue.Mr Wenger must realize that since last season, because we lost on high ball battle.Bouba Diop is good candidate to post in arsenal midfield.AT least somebody can protect back four. Denilson too young to protect back four.

I think Arsenal showed Sorenson quite a bit of physicality. But that was just Van Persie.

This is exactly right!!! We need a big strong centre half, a destructive midfield player and a quality goalie. My three sugestions would be Christopher Samba from Blackburn, Ya Ya Toure from Barcelona and Robert Green from West Ham. Samba at 6 feet 5 inches would give us a massive physical presence. Put either Galles or Kolo alongside him and you have a strong defence with a bit of covering pace. Delap's throw would never have beaten Samba. Rob Green in goal looks solid and hopefully would not make the mistakes that Almunia has at both Tottenham and Stoke. Lastly, Ya Ya would hold and break up the oppositions attacks. He's not scared to put his foot in and would definitely strengthen us up in the middle. Unless we make these signings we are going to struggle. What do you all think?

someone once told me that Arsenal is a great team, but they will always disappoint their fans...I refused to see the sense in that, but now, I cant help it.Arsenal is becoming a disappointment to their fans, to their own game and to the quest for attaining the trophies. please step up your game!!!

i agree with sorensen....everyone knos about arsenal weak points and everyone will exploit them..

i say we play 4-3-3 and buy yaya toure

same goalkeeper and defeenders

but in midfield

yaya toure diaby or song fabregas

van persie adebayor nasri or walcott

i cant see why arsene cant play this formation

Stoke have a long throw, some beasts under it playing skittles with opposition defenders and zero footballing ability. The way to defend it is to ignore it. Push up to the edge of the area - send the goalie for every ball if he gets touched it's a foul.

This will be worked out - Stoke will go down.
