Wenger blames fatigue for European stalemate

Manager Arsène Wenger has blamed fatigue for the European stalemate on Wednesday against Fenerbahce.

A win would have guaranteed qualification from the group stages, leaving Wenger to focus on getting the team's title challenge back on track.

But despite dominating the match, the Gunners failed to find the back of the net and Wenger says that it is a sign of fatigue.

The Frenchman said: "You can see from all of the results of the English teams that none of them had lost before tonight in the Champions League, and this week none of them have won.

"That is maybe explainable because last week everybody gave so much in the Premier League and had a little bit less resources to play in the Champions League this week.

"I feel we have played three different games [in the last two weeks].

"We had a big disappointment last week. We played an outstanding game last Wednesday but we still dropped points and then we had a little hangover against Stoke when we lost the game.

"But I watched Liverpool last night and they drew, I'm not really sure how. Chelsea were not sharp physically and we were not sharp physically. I don't know how Man United played.

"But it looks as though, because the Premier League is very demanding, if you have a Champions League week afterwards it is difficult physically."

arsene needs to come up with a better excuse because we are getting tired of this flimsy excuses perhaps if we had better replacements on our bench then we would have done the job at emirates.Guess he has Man U and chelsea to thank for playing poor games so he could liken ourselves to them.point is frankly i am growing tired of Mr Wengers countless excuses and inaction and uppity.Don't get me wrong ok i am a fan of him but i love Arsenal more.

Its been like this for years Wenger. You shouldn't blame the game, blame yourself for not preparing the team enough.
