Almunia may be back for Aston Villa

Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is back in training and may recover in time from the injury he sustained against Manchester United in time for the Aston Villa game.

Manager Arsène Wenger has revealed that the Spaniard went straight to hospital after the match against United to get treatment.

The game against Wigan Athletic tonight will be too soon for Almunia and it seems that Polish deputy Lukasz Fabianski will be in charge of the defence again.

Fabianski playing is also consistent with Wenger's policy of playing the younger players in order for them to gain important experience.

Wenger said: "He went to hospital [after the game] but he is perfectly alright now.

"He was in today and should practise either Wednesday or Thursday.

"You will see 90 per cent of the team who played against Sheffield United in the last round.

"We will keep faith in our philosophy and we will not change it now. That is very important for the Club. All the young players need to show how good they are."
