Manager Arsène Wenger bemoaned the international break and said that it is causing him problems as he is unable to speak to his players to lift them up after the defeat against Aston Villa.
The Gunners were seriously let-down by their own performance which was below their usual standards.
Wenger said: "It is frustrating we can't pick them up because of the international week.
"At some stage, we would have liked to focus on something different then come back and re-focus again."
The Frenchman was at a lost of words as well when attempting to explain the lack of consistency from his team, coming from defeating champions Manchester United to losing against Villa.
Wenger added: "It's been unbelievable. We won on Saturday and Tuesday and were on a high. But you felt there was no energy left in the side.
"I don't have a rational explanation because we tried to make sure that everybody was on top of their game.
"It didn't work. Maybe it's down to the quality of Villa's performance, I don't know."

Enough is enough and Wenger's excuses are unacceptable. He must work out his team combination well and change players on time. How much did he learn from previous season? Same mistakes over and over. Arsene must get rid of lazy players. Arsenal's performance against Aston Villa was the worst ever and very heart breaking. If he cannot deliver he should excuse himself before it is too late.

i miss Gilberto ...alot this season ..the way things have paned out this season so far ...surely he would have been a very useful player to have in the squad...and as a leader in what at times seems to be a somewhat unbalanced dressing room .

Yes,Toba that the point I followed that game as well Wenger is system of changing players also at 70 minutes is not good, that was different from Maurinho even after 10 minutes if things are not ok make a change with bendtner and they are playing him alone in these previous games instead of twin strikers wenger as to adapt the arsenal team to all formations coz in case we don't have enough players we can a plan B it was the same problem in 2004 we were just playing 4-4-2 we have to make players flexible to all the formation 4-5-1, 4-3-3 etc.
And why Wenger is not playing Djourou, and Villa on attack? We need a defensive mid like Makelele.

It just playing wrong player, I support the youth ideas but if some one is not perform well as you like you must give that chance to the next player.

I have great respect for Wenger. But he needs to admit that he has gotten his selection and tactics wrong in all the games we have lost this season.
I still do not see any reason why Vela should sit it out while Bendtner is busy strolling on the pitch. Bendtner does not have the qualities of an Arsenal reserve player. He is just not good for our darling team. Wenger should allow him to go. He belongs not to Arsenal!
Why does it take Wenger so much time to effect changes even when those of us watching at home can see the pitfalls immediately a match kicks off? It is good to express beleive in your players but there are limits to everything most especially when you want to win matches.
Check out all the games we have lost this season: the desire to win was not in any one of them. Wenger needs to get the boys geared up to win. He needs to constantly tell them the importance of winning.
As for the composition of the team, we need to add more. A world class goalkeeper is required. Almunia is only good for a deputy. We need players with commanding presence in our defence line. It is time for Gallas to move on. Toure has passed his prime. He needs a replacement. For Sagna, I think he is being complacent because there is no credible challenger. He needs somebody to give him a wake-up call. Mr. Premiership best right full back in his first season can not just become Mr. Anonymous!
The mid-field needs a strong and a commanding partner for Fabregas. There is a need to wake Fabregas up. Just like Sagna, he thinks he is untouchable.
The attack needs someone that the oponents' defence line will fear. We need to let Bendtner go and get someone to join Ade, RVP and Eduardo. Bendtner is not just an attacker for Arsenal.
Mr. Wenger, I am not going to give you names for the positions that we know are currently vacant in the Arsenal squad, I leave it to you and your scouts. But I just want you to have it at the back of your mind that there is a need to recruit if you do not want those beautiful years of yours in Arsenal to be easily forgotten. Please act fast.
