Song: I need to work hard

Defender Alex Song is happy with his performances so far this season but says that he is aiming to work harder in order to cement his position in the first team.
Song, who also revealed that he regularly speaks to uncle Rigobert Song for advice, has made ten appearances this season already.
Speaking to World Soccer Magazine, he said: "My uncle is always trying to give me advice.
"I speak to him before games and when I need to take a decision.
"I am very lucky to have him. Now I just need to follow his example.
"I think I have great future and it's my duty to work hard.
"Rigo was my idol when I was young so I just want to do the same as him."

so far, he seems slow to track back on forward positions, needs to sit deep in order not to get caught out in counter attack.

All successful Arsenal teams in the past have had good utility players - Similar mould to Grimandi. Song proved he can cut it in the Prem when on loan at Charlton couple years back - he often bossed the midfield. Think he'll do better in Central defence.

I think he should rather be a full time defensive midfielder instead of being a utility player and needs to be encouraged.

Song is not good enough and will never be good enough to play for Arsenal. How do we go from Vieira, Parlour, Pires and the like to this guy. Arsene needs his head examined playing this guy next to Cesc.

Jst to encourage song to really work hard.He deserves a place in the team with time.
