Midfielder Aaron Ramsey will win his first cap tonight when Wales take on Denmark in an international friendly.
It's being reported in the press that the 17-year-old's debut is the most eagerly awaited since Ryan Giggs in 1991.
Welsh manager John Toshack said: "We've obviously watched his progress since he's gone to Arsenal.
"He didn't have too many full matches at Cardiff."
Toshack is hoping to slowly integrate Ramsey into the first team in order for him to participate in the country's World Cup qualifying campaign.
ASked on what Ramsey's role in midfield will be, he added: "It's a case of looking at him [and] looking at the qualities of the other players that we've got as well.
"This team, really, you won't see the best of them for another five-to-six years and I wouldn't expect to be around then.
"I would [then] expect them to be able to qualify not just for one but for two or three tournaments."
Assistant manager Dean Saunders says that Ramsey must start living up to his reputation of sublime goals and displays, and the youngster has certainly impressed for the Gunners.
Saunders said: "Expectation is high but when you cost that much money, you've got to live up to it.
"That's part of the price on the ticket. There is huge excitement and expectation but that is because he is a class act.
"Aaron played great for Arsenal the other day.
"He is still only 17 and is coming on but he is looking a class act.
"He is at a great club with a tradition of producing wonderful footballers who can pass the ball around teams for fun.
"Aaron is being taught how to be a midfield player; he is looks great on the ball.
"But there are two parts to being a midfield player, when you have got the ball and when you haven't. He has to learn both sides of that and Arsène Wenger will teach him that.
"Then when he comes away with us, we add something to him as well."

Good one for the young Ramsey. To say the fact, this guy is one of future world football talents. That said, his contribution towards lifting Arsenal from its present state, will be minimal. Not because he is not getting regular games with the senior team, but because he is too young to be handed much responsibilities, though you will say we have had too many young gunners saddled with enormous task at the moment, which can also explain why Arsenal is no longer invincible. In as much as I want to see these young dudes carve a career at Arsenal, they will obvious need some more experienced players in the club for them to understudy. This invariably enhance their quick growth in the game. Food for thought - Arsene Wenger.

He had a really good game, in my opinion Wales' best. He just looked different than the other midfield players when in possesion, always creating enough space for himself to hit a creative pass. He was Wales' primary creative force and wanted the ball as we know him from his games for Arsenal. The influece in his game from Arsenes type of football was also eye-catching, as he was more dynamic and willing to make runs without the ball than his midfield colleagues. A very impressive international debut for a 17-year-old.
